To celebrate Affordable Housing Week, Rafn Company is proud to share this video highlighting the impact of the Housing Development Consortium (HDC).

For more than 15 years, our Director of Estimating & Senior Project Manager, Ryan Meno, has contributed his time and expertise to HDC committees and industry collaboration. In this video, he joins fellow members to reflect on the importance of affordable housing, the relationships built through HDC, and the power of community-centered development.

Each May, Preservation Month gives us a chance to celebrate the spaces that tell the story of our communities. The buildings that have stood through decades of change and continue to serve a purpose today.

Plymouth Housing’s Pacific Apartments is one of those places. Originally built in 1915 as the Leamington Hotel and Apartments, this historic Beaux-Arts building became derelict in the 80s and began crumbling away. It was occupied in the early 1990s by community activists in an effort to preserve it as housing for low-income residents. It was then acquired by Plymouth Housing in 1993 to provide low-income supportive housing.

After an initial renovation in 1995 and another recently completed by Rafn, the building now holds 89 units for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness and continues to serve the community more than a century after it was first built. Rafn Company is proud to help extend the life of this historic building while honoring its existing character, craftsmanship, and story.

Rafn’s annual season of giving drive is officially a wrap.

This year, we partnered with Empowering Youth & Families Outreach (EYFO) to collect food, essentials, and grocery store gift cards, and our employees truly showed up. Huge thank you to EYFO for sharing these amazing photos and for the work you do every day! ❤️

Every project is a meeting of different groups, priorities, and points of view. This was no different. Rafn Company believes in collaboration as a key pillar for success.
