Thank you to our US Veterans & Active Duty Military for your service 🇺🇸

We are proud to have been a part of Issaquah Parks’ updated Veterans Memorial Park and Pedestrian Plaza, which opened in September. KPFF provided civil and structural design. Intended as a memorial and a space for reflection and family gatherings, the park has a new shelter, two metal sculptures, and a pedestrian plaza shared with the nearby senior center. Both areas feature curved planter retaining walls, while the plaza also has a fountain fed by a large, below-grade pump vault. The shelter includes custom built-up Corten Steel columns and Alaskan Yellow Cedar decking and framing.

KPFF recently completed both civil and structural design for this exciting upgrade to Kenmore Elementary School for the North Shore School District! The project included the addition of a new commons building and significant landscaping changes to connect the rest of the campus to the new building. The site changes included structured boardwalks to minimize the use of site walls to address grade changes. Thanks to our great partners Mithun and Lease Crutcher Lewis for including us in the project.

Congratulations to the Northlake Commons Regional Swale team for the Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association 2025 Innovative Stormwater Project Award! 🏆

KPFF provided civil engineering services for this mass timber building that comprises offices, labs, and three below-grade parking levels. Civil scope included frontage design, Burke-Gilman trail improvements, and a regional stormwater treatment system that treats 2.6M gallons of polluted rainwater annually from adjacent public roadways. The project was developed through a public/private partnership with Seattle Public Utilities and achieved LEED Platinum and Fitwel certifications.

Congratulations to the Eastrail NE 8th Street Crossing team for the 2025 ASCE Local Outstanding Engineering Achievement Honor Award!

The NE 8th Street Pedestrian Bridge is a critical link in the 42-mile Eastrail. The new bridge provides a safe crossing over NE 8th Street in Bellevue, connecting the Eastrail to the Wilburton Light Rail Station.

The design honors Bellevue’s Japanese American heritage with a 117-foot mural featuring historic photos and golden joinery inspired by the Japanese art of “kintsugi,” as well as custom poetry by local Japanese American artists.
