It’s been almost exactly a year since my last post. A lot has happened since then, mainly the birth of a first child, Theodore. While he has become a major priority in my life, I am grateful that I could continue to find way’s to grow as a designer and business owner during this exciting shift.
Here you will see maybe my most favorite (non human 😉) creation to date. A Japanese inspired urban garden with a Corten planter lined deck, poured concrete pavers, Black forest inspired fencing and many large granite boulders. I love how the oversized boulders seem to set the tone for every space. I like boulders best when a garden appears to be built around them not with them, as if they were there long before the house and garden ever were. Any space that feels like it’s was built with and for its exact place in the world will always shine brightest. No need for bright colorful flowers or overwhelming contrast here.
