Lighting, surroundings and even the time of day can change how a color appears. Always test color samples in different areas of your home before finalizing your color choices.

This is what REAL prep looks like. 👀

Not every home needs paint shaving… but when a house has multiple failing layers, heavy peeling, bubbling, or years and years of old coatings breaking down, simply painting over it is a temporary band-aid at best.

Paint shaving removes those failing layers down to a more stable surface so the new system actually has a chance to LAST. It’s messy, labor intensive, loud, and honestly one of the most physically demanding prep processes we do — but the end result is worth it. 💪🎨

Most exterior paint failures don’t happen because the finish coat was bad. They happen because the underlying layers were already failing underneath.

This is the kind of work that makes the difference between:
✔ a paint job that lasts
and
❌ a paint job that starts peeling again in a couple years.

Seattle weather is hard on homes. Prep matters here more than most people realize. 🌧️

✨ PNW Paint Reality Check ✨

If your painter promises:
☀️ “Perfect weather all week”
☀️ “No delays”
☀️ “We’ll just paint over that”
☀️ “Moisture isn’t a big deal”

…run. 😂

Painting in the Pacific Northwest is basically a competitive sport against:
🌧 surprise rain
💧 morning dew
🌲 tree sap
☀️ brutal Southern exposure
🕷 spider colonies with squatter’s rights
and 47 layers of old paint from before 1978

A GOOD exterior paint job up here isn’t just about making a house pretty. It’s about:
✔ moisture management
✔ proper prep
✔ product selection for our climate
✔ knowing when NOT to paint
✔ and understanding how homes in Seattle actually age.

That’s why PNW painting takes longer.
That’s why prep matters.
And honestly? That’s why some paint jobs fail in 3 years while others still look solid a decade later.

The Pacific Northwest is hard on homes. Your paint contractor should know how to fight back. 🎨💪

POV: your painters show up with the shellac primer. 😤🎨

If the audio sounds completely unintelligible… it’s because everyone is wearing respirators and yelling through masks like a bunch of muffled astronauts. 😂

Shellac primer is no joke:
✔ Water stains
✔ Smoke damage
✔ Tannin bleed
✔ Tough adhesion situations
✔ Odor sealing

This stuff dries insanely fast, smells absolutely terrible, and works INCREDIBLY well when used in the right situations.

Not every project needs shellac — but when it does, there’s really nothing else like it. Prep and product knowledge matter way more than most people realize.

💪 We can paint it… so you don’t have to.

Let’s be honest—your summer to-do list should include BBQs, sunshine, and spending time with the fam… not scraping siding, caulking joints, and climbing ladders 😅

Now’s the time to get your exterior estimate and cross “paint the house” off your list before summer even starts.

📅 Our schedule fills up fast once the weather sticks—don’t wait until you’re staring at peeling paint during your first backyard party.. or watching "that" friend inspect your home with "the eye"...
