recently posted about a built that almost broke him. This is my build that almost broke me. What I thought would take a little over a week took almost two months. Some of that time was from attending to family matters, or recovering from the emotional and physical drain of sed matters. Even without factoring in that time away it still would have take at least a month to build.
I had a lot of firsts on this build. First time building traditional muntins, first time making glue chipped glass. I had to completely rebuild my muntins, because the first set just didn’t look right. Between clumsiness and unknown factors I had to make 14 panes glue chipped pieces of glass to get my 9 panes. There were times I wanted to call it, return their deposit because I didn’t think I was good enough. Yet I persisted, and I’m glad I did. Ann and Miles are in love with the door. I see every flaw in it, I even started dreaming of it. But once installed I was able to step back and see its beauty. So for anyone that is struggling, just keep pushing through.
