This summer, Manson’s interns have been hard at work, gaining hands-on field experience alongside some of the best engineers in marine construction and dredging. Along the way, they have contributed to meaningful projects that support America’s waterways and marine infrastructure.

To celebrate their dedication to their teams and projects, the Pacific Northwest Operations team invited Seattle interns to spend a day whitewater rafting in Washington’s Upper Skagit Valley. Under sunny skies, the group enjoyed a day on the water celebrating their hard work throughout the summer.

We’re proud to announce that Manson’s P-224 Causeway, Boat Channel and Turning Basin & P-226 Ammunition Pier NAVWPNSTA Seal Beach project received the Best Specialty Construction Award for Engineering News-Record (ENR) West’s 2026 Best Project Competition for its Southern California subregion.

More than 130 projects from across the west coast including Hawaii were reviewed by an independent panel of architecture, engineering, and construction experts to award 29 Best Projects and 32 Merit Awards. Projects were judged on their ability to overcome challenges, contributions to the industry and community, safety performance, and overall construction and design quality.

In November, ENR West will honor the Southern California project winners at its Best Projects event in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to category winners, judges have selected three finalists in both the Northern California and Southern California subregions for consideration as ENR West’s 2026 Project of the Year, which will also be announced during the events.

Last month, the Jacksonville office partnered with the Ronald McDonald House Charities' Meals That Heal program to prepare home-cooked meals for families staying at a Ronald McDonald House in Jacksonville.

Team members worked together to prepare some tasty dishes including sweet and sour chicken with rice and fresh salad for families to enjoy after long hours at the hospital.

Manson earned top honors at the Western Dredging Association’s (WEDA) Dredging Summit & Expo in Montréal, Canada, bringing home two awards that recognize our continued commitment to safety and leadership in the dredging industry.

Manson received the 2026 Safety Excellence Award - Contractor, which honors organizations that demonstrate proactive approaches to raising safety awareness in the dredging workplace.

Senior Vice President and Dredging Manager Mike Warwick was also named WEDA Dredger of the Year, an award recognizing significant contributions to WEDA and the broader dredging community.

Mike had this to say after receiving his award: “There are so many others who have helped me and pulled me up — too many to mention everyone by name.

To me that is the purpose of WEDA, it is to exchange knowledge and to educate. To pull people up. So my challenge to all of us, is to help pull up the next generation. Pass on what we have learned. Let’s help them climb higher than us.”

In July, Manson’s Offshore Group and marine yard in Houma, Louisiana, reached 1,000 calendar days without a recordable injury. This achievement reflects the team’s ongoing commitment to Manson’s safety culture, where employees make safe decisions, look out for one another, and do the right thing every day.

The Offshore Group calls this mindset “stacking zeroes,” a simple reminder that safety is built one task, one project, and one day at a time. For the team, the milestone is not just about numbers. It is the result of intentional planning, disciplined ex*****on, and a shared commitment to Manson’s core values: take care of people, do the right thing, and find a better way.

This milestone is one example of Manson’s safety culture in action across its national operations, with a continued focus on protecting people and sending everyone home safely.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY

In the late 1980s, Manson bid and won the Aids to Navigation/Structures Micronesia and Marshall Islands project. Led by then-Manson President Glenn Edwards, the $1.8 million dollar job required the placement of lighted dolphins to help vessels travel the Pacific channels.

Towed by the tugboat HARRY M, crews set a crane on a large barge with materials and made sail to Micronesia, stopping by several islands in between including, Chuuk, Yap, Palau, Pohnpei, Kosrae, and Majuro.

Make-A-Wish is facing a shortage of airline miles during its busiest travel wish season. Manson is partnering with the local Make-A-Wish chapter to help replenish those miles and make more wishes possible.

Nearly 75% of wishes require travel, and airfare is the organization’s largest annual wish expense. Donated miles help more children with critical illnesses reach destinations such as Hawaii, Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Earlier this month, Manson’s Richmond office and West Coast Dredge team partnered with the Contra Costa & Solano Food Bank for a hands-on community service event.

The Food Bank delivered bulk quantities of potatoes, onions, and unlabeled cans of olives to the Richmond yard, where volunteers repackaged produce into family-sized bags and labeled and boxed thousands of cans for distribution.

In just two hours, the volunteers prepared more than 2,500 pounds of onions, 2,500 pounds of potatoes, and 3,500 cans of olives to help local families in need. Manson also provided a cash contribution to further support the Food Bank’s mission.
