Here are some tips for taking care of an inground pool:
Clean the pool: Brush the walls, steps, and ladders daily, and skim the surface. Vacuum the pool once a week or use an automatic cleaner.
Clean the filter: Rinse the filter once a week and deep clean it once a month. Cleaning the filter removes debris and chemical build-up.
Maintain water chemistry: Test the pH and chlorine levels in the water 1-2 times per week. Balance the pH and alkalinity, and maintain sanitizer levels.
Shock the pool: Add a large dose of chlorine every two weeks or after heavy use, heavy rains, or hot weather.
Maintain water level: Keep the water level about an inch from the top of the skimmer opening. Letting the water level get too low can cause your liner to float.
Winterize the pool: If you live in a climate where temperatures fall below freezing in the winter, fully winterize the pool to prevent damage from freezing and expanding water.
