Having a Surge Protective Device (SPD) in your electrical panel can help protect your home and electrical components connected to it. Since your panel is the first place a surge hits and then spreads. End point SPD is also recommended.

2023 National Electrical Code (NEC), section 230.67 mandates that a surge protective device (SPD) of Type 1 or Type 2 must be installed on all services supplying dwelling units.
