From slab to ceiling at Simone's Kitchen in Glenmont.

Saw-cutting the slab, underground plumbing, pouring it back, overhead work, and the ceiling painted blue. Every restaurant starts with the work nobody sees.

More progress coming as this one comes together.

Wednesday. 7am on the road. Four supply houses, one wrong part, one trip back, then a walk-in cooler delivery to receive.

Nobody sees this part of the job. But no materials, no build.

Slab infill in progress on a commercial kitchen buildout in the Capital Region. The building came to us as a vanilla box with no under-slab restaurant plumbing — no floor drains, no grease lines. We cut the slab, ran the underslab plumbing, compacted the backfill, and now we’re pouring infill to bring it back to grade before final floor finish.
This is the part of a kitchen build nobody sees once it’s open — and it’s the part that determines whether that kitchen floods or drains right for the next 20 years.

Thanks to Alicia and Rob for trusting HHR Builders with the build-out of the new Upstate Cookie Shack location in East Greenbush.

What started as a former office space was transformed into a full bakery and café featuring:

custom built-ins and counters
floating feature bulkhead and lighting
full kitchen and utility upgrades
custom trim and finish work
customer seating and café layout
complete code and health department approvals

The space is now officially open and operating.

Projects like this take a lot of coordination behind the scenes between owners, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and trades to bring everything together successfully and on schedule.

Congratulations again to Upstate Cookie Shack on the grand opening and expansion.
