Did you catch the hidden doors here?

The 1x6 nickel gap continues across six concealed doors in this barrel vaulted hallway. Small finger pulls allow the doors to open without any k***s protruding from the walls. Behind them are a bedroom, powder room, laundry room, elevator, service closet, and mechanical room.

That same approach carries overhead, where the barrel vaulted ceiling isn’t just for style. Its curved shape gave us room to conceal mechanicals above, keeping everything tucked away from floor to ceiling.

Seeing the site as a whole gives a new perspective on the progress at our Perkins View project in Ogunquit. With the trees cleared and a good portion of the ledge removed, the site has really opened up.

The new home is designed to make the most of these views, with plenty of windows looking out over the water. The homeowners will be able to enjoy the views from throughout the home and open the windows to hear waves like the ones pictured here crashing along the coast.

Hard to believe it’s already fall, but the foliage up here in Carrabassett Valley is making it easy to enjoy.

At our Mountainside Residence project, the footings were completed last week and the foundation walls have now been poured, wrapping up the first phase of the foundation.

Next up is damp-proofing and site work before we move on to the second phase: the garage foundation.

Demo is wrapped up at our Seaside Reno in York, and we’re moving into framing.

Our carpenters started by framing out the his and hers closet area, which takes up most of the original bedroom space. The new primary bedroom will then expand out over the first floor deck, into the area where the old second floor deck used to be.

Lots of big changes are coming to this home now that we’re officially into the building phase.

At our Perkins View project in Ogunquit, we’re making room for a detached garage and more usable yard space.

To make that happen, we need to remove a substantial amount of ledge.

Hammering is underway, but we’re still learning how this rock will break. Depending on how hard it is, clearing it could take days or weeks.

Once the ledge is removed, a retaining wall will separate the yard from the driveway. It’s a lot of site work at the start, but it will give the homeowners more room to use and enjoy the property.
