Our first annual Driving for Dee Dee: Unity Golf Outing benefiting LUNGevity is officially in the books, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day or a better group of people to share it with.
After months of planning and a lot of help from some amazing people, we were lucky enough to spend the day surrounded by clients, colleagues, subcontractors, vendors, friends, and family — all coming together for a cause that means so much to us.
At the heart of it all was Danielle “Dee Dee” Hertling.
We created Driving for Dee Dee to celebrate her life, keep her memory alive, and turn our family’s experience with lung cancer into an opportunity to help others. That is why we chose to support LUNGevity Foundation and the important work they do to advance lung cancer research and provide education, advocacy, resources, and support to patients and their families.
We are incredibly grateful to the sponsors who helped make our first year possible:
Platinum: FSG New Jersey | Hilb Group
Gold: 3R Painting | Harbor Lights | Hywel Plumbing
Silver: 2M Electric | Air Group | Amboy Floors | ENCON | Goodman Construction | Patriot Blueprinting | TriState Sun Control Window Films
Bronze: BF Construction Corp | GAM Information Systems | GMI Automation
Dinner Sponsor: RMG CPA
B**r Shed Sponsor/ Signage provided by: FLM Reprographics
Lunch Sponsor: Caruso Excavating
Beverage Cart Sponsor: Prestige Millwork LLC
And to all of our contest, hole, welcome bag, in-memory, and additional sponsors and donors — thank you. Every contribution helped make this day so special.
A huge thank you as well to Neshanic Valley Golf Course, our Unity team, every golfer, volunteer, donor, and everyone who helped behind the scenes. We truly could not have done it without you.
While we had a lot of fun, Driving for Dee Dee was always about something much bigger than golf. It was about remembering someone deeply loved, bringing people together in her honor, and supporting a cause that has become incredibly personal to our family.
Seeing Dee’s name throughout the course, and so many people gathered in her memory, is something we will always remember.
From the Hertling family and everyone at Unity Construction Services, thank you for making year one so special. 💙
We can’t wait to do it all again next year! ⛳️
