ITS’s word for 2026 is Efficiency. Each Tuesday, our team comes together to focus on ideas and practices that help us work smarter and improve the way we build.

This week’s conversation centered on shortcuts. While they may seem like time-savers, shortcuts often cost more than they save. They can lead to rework, injuries, added stress, and project delays.

At ITS, we’ve learned that efficiency isn’t always about moving faster—it’s about doing the job right the first time.

One Team. One Plan. Done Right the First Time.

If you’re looking for an industrial contractor committed to quality and efficiency, give us a call. We’d love to work with you.

Donna Tyson, President

My construction journey began when I married an electrician. At the time, I never imagined that years later I would become the President of an industrial construction company.

I’ve always had a passion for numbers and for asking the right questions—qualities that have proven incredibly valuable in the construction industry. I started my family before finishing college, but the determination and grit I’ve seen every day in construction inspired me to go back and complete my accounting degree.

Over the years, I’ve been able to use that knowledge to help chart the course for ITS and support the growth of our team and projects. Working in construction has truly been inspiring, and I can’t imagine a career path that would have been more fulfilling.

Donna is a trailblazer in industrial construction. She helped set the standards for industrial construction, safety, and how to do it right. We thank her for her leadership, strength, and kindness, which she freely shares with her team.

Tannie Anderson, Vice President

I began my career in construction in 1988 as a temporary employee with Quality Control Electric, working out of the office trailer at the Katalystics Plant (now BASF).

I continued with QCE, taking on responsibilities in Human Resources and Payroll, and later partnering with Donna Tyson to help develop and strengthen our company’s Safety Program. What started as an administrative role quickly grew into a genuine passion. While watching a project evolve from the ground up into a completed facility, I gained deep respect for the craftsmanship, precision, and teamwork required from every trade on site.

I have been continually inspired by the skill, dedication, and strong personalities of the men and women in construction. The industry has shaped both my professional path and my personal growth—and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Tannie brings experience, integrity, and heart to ITS.

Kay Fish, Talent Director

My path to construction has been a winding one—an industry I never originally imagined for myself. Through my HR career, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of fields, from staffing and social work to fish hatcheries, youth recreation, healthcare, and ultimately construction. Of all of them, construction—and especially my time at ITS—has been my favorite. I’m continually amazed by what our team can build. They are hardworking, intelligent, and, at times, true miracle workers. At ITS, we genuinely come together as a team to accomplish our mission, and I’m proud to be part of it.

Kay is the welcome committee for ITS. She makes it feel like family!

Gurtie Spears, Safety Professional

My construction journey has come full circle in a way I never could have imagined. I began my career as a heavy equipment operator, with a deep passion for running equipment and being in the heart of the action on the jobsite. That passion and dedication led me to grow into a construction supervisor role, where I took pride in leading crews and delivering successful projects. Back then, I’ll admit, the last person I wanted to see pulling up on site was safety. Funny how life works. Today, I serve as a safety professional at ITS, and I now carry a deep respect and love for both construction operations and safety. I understand firsthand that when safety is planned intentionally and integrated from the start, it drives efficiency, prevents injuries, eliminates delays, and ultimately leads to stronger, more successful projects. ITS has truly been a blessing from God in my life, and there is no other place I would rather be as I continue to grow, lead, and serve in this industry.

Gurtie brings knowledge, vision, and heart every day.

Meghann Nolan, Electrician

My path to working in construction started young (7). I always looked up to my dad and used to beg him to bring me to work on his site (he was a mason). Once I was a little older (10), he would bring me to the site to “help” him estimate jobs by grabbing a tape measure and looking cute. We also did tons of projects together around the house. From there, I took all the technical classes available to me during middle and high school, including a vocational program where they touched on most trades to help students pick their specialty and see if the trades were right for them. During that time, I was working in a residential wood fab shop doing everything from building kitchen cabinets and mantles to wiring receptacles. Electrical was always my favorite; there is just something magical about completing a project and turning the lights on or plugging something in knowing you did that. From there, I tried to join my local union, where I wasn’t accepted due to a lack of experience. Instead of being discouraged, I went to trade school to get that experience. After trade school, I moved away from my small town in NY to Georgia. I looked and looked for a job that was the right fit. This was especially important to me being a woman; they had to respect me, and that’s how I ended up at ITS. My path was long and definitely not straight, but I couldn’t be happier to be in the field I’m in, working for a great company.

Meghann is a superstar on Team ITS!

Amanda Yeater, Purchasing Agent

My path in construction has grown through my role in Purchasing at ITS, where I’ve learned how critical planning, relationships, and attention to detail are to every project’s success. I take pride in supporting our field teams by securing the right materials at the right time and value. While there are many paths in construction, my mission at ITS is to help build strong foundations for our teams and the communities we serve.

Thank you for all you do for Team ITS, Amanda.
