Please join us in welcoming two outstanding new additions to the JTVS team!

We're excited to welcome Amy Smith as our new Business Development Director and Gavyn Groomes as our newest Field Engineer.

Amy brings more than 30 years of experience in business development, marketing, communications, and strategic consulting across the architecture, engineering, construction, technology, nonprofit, and public sectors. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for fostering growth, strengthening client relationships, and helping organizations achieve lasting success.

Gavyn's journey with JTVS comes full circle. After spending two summers interning with us while earning his Construction Management degree from Georgia Southern University, he has officially joined the team full-time as a Field Engineer. His dedication, eagerness to learn, and passion for quality construction make him a great fit for our team.

When she's not working, Amy enjoys timber farming, traveling to France to practice her French, growing orchids, and spending time in the garden. Outside the office, Gavyn enjoys the outdoors, cheering on his favorite teams, and spending time with family and friends.

We're excited to have Amy and Gavyn on the JTVS team and look forward to all they'll accomplish. Welcome to the JTVS family!

Team Spotlight | Jane Elert, Project Manager

This week, we're recognizing Jane Elert, one of the dedicated Project Managers who helps keep our projects moving from planning through completion. Often working alongside Project Director Billy McIntosh, Jane plays a key role in coordinating project schedules, managing documentation, supporting field operations, and helping ensure every detail is executed with precision.

Most recently, Jane helped lead the successful completion of Bobbie’s Diner, working closely with the project team to bring the vision to life. Her commitment, organization, and collaborative approach make her an invaluable part of JTVS Builders.

Jane, thank you for your hard work, professionalism, and dedication to every project. We appreciate everything you do and are grateful to have you on the JTVS team!

From budgeting and scheduling to coordination with owners, architects, and engineers, preconstruction plays a critical role in delivering projects efficiently and thoughtfully. We’re honored to have served as the general contractor for the new Emmaus House Resource Center, a transformational project that will make a lasting impact in our community.

The new facility, made possible through a generous $1 million gift from Parker Community Fund and the continued leadership of Union Mission, brings critical services together under one roof. Designed to serve more than 200 individuals each day, the center provides access to housing assistance, healthcare resources, meals, job readiness programs, and other essential support services that help create pathways toward stability and independence.

Congratulations to Union Mission, Parker Community Fund, and everyone involved in bringing this vision to life. We are proud to have played a role in constructing a space dedicated to hope, healing, and strengthening our Savannah community.

to Water Witch Tiki Bar

Water Witch Tiki Bar is a one-of-a-kind bar that joined Savannah’s Starland District in 2020. This 1,800-square-foot space build-out was completely transformed from a white box to a tropical South-Pacific-themed bar and kitchen that included an entirely in-house build of all the bamboo work, including the actual tiki bar featuring a real grass and bamboo roof. Sea glass, ropes, palms, and vibrant wallpaper were curated throughout the space. JTVS Builders designed and built the project in collaboration with Liz Demos Designs. The interior space was never pre-drawn but designed as the space developed.

This project combined hospitality, atmosphere, and craftsmanship to create a destination that feels both unique and connected to Savannah’s character. So as they say at Water Witch come say “Aloha” and Get Sunk.
