We can usually tell within the first few minutes if a home has hidden issues brewing. Some are cosmetic… some are expensive… and some are straight up safety concerns. 😅

Hurricane season in Southeast Georgia is here — and honestly, the best time to prepare your home is before a storm is on the radar. 👀🌧️

A few things we always recommend homeowners check this time of year:
• loose railings or weak deck boards
• gaps around doors and windows
• cracked or failing exterior caulking
• siding damage or soft spots
• drainage issues around the home
• soffit or fascia damage
• signs of wood rot around trim and exterior framing

A lot of storm damage actually starts with small maintenance issues that have been slowly getting worse over time. Water almost always finds the weak spot eventually.

The good news? Most of these things are much easier (and cheaper) to fix early instead of after a major storm rolls through.

Living near the coast means our homes take a beating between humidity, rain, heat, and storms — so preventative maintenance matters more than people realize around here.

For this project, we removed five existing dining room windows and created one large stationary glass feature window to completely change the look and feel of the space. We professionally flashed, sealed, trimmed, and finished the new opening inside and out, then completed the project with fresh paint to blend everything seamlessly.
