“The property is just outside historic downtown Brunswick on Canal Road in Glynn County, a short drive from the bridges that carry you out to St. Simons and Jekyll. Two lakes are stitched into the site. Nature trails wind through the live oaks. The cottages, two and three bedrooms each, sit as individual buildings rather than stacked into blocks. The intention from the start was to build a community that read like a place, not a complex.”

“This Reidsville dogtrot is defined by what isn’t there: two log pens connected by an open-air breezeway under one roofline. That central “trot” was passive cooling before the term existed, pulling air through and cooling the heavy log walls through the Georgia summers of 1820.

Our restoration is about technical sincerity over novelty. Honoring the logic of the original builders while bringing the house into its next chapter.”

Mother Trinity C.M.E. at 902 Eighth Street in Augusta is a mid-1800s sanctuary and documented African American Civil Rights site. It’s been vacant for years, with roof damage letting water into the interior along with numerous elements in varying states of disrepair

SHAH is leading the full restoration in partnership with the Augusta Canal Authority, funded by the National Park Service. Work follows the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards, with NPS and Georgia SHPO review throughout.
