Our story began in 1946 with the collaboration of former US Army Corps of Engineers, Hue Thomas and Joe Hutton, opening an engineering firm in Savannah, GA. Our founders envisioned tremendous opportunities in transforming the landscape and well-being of our communities by providing professional and consulting services to municipalities in the region, as well as private entities seeking to develop

Thomas & Hutton (T&H) shareholders recently held their annual meeting at the Hyundai Mobility Training Center of Georgia in Bryan County, Georgia, followed by a tour of the facility.

The Georgia Quick Start facility supports Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America and serves as a hands-on training environment for Georgia’s future electric vehicle workforce. Located within the Bryan County Megasite, the 100,000-square-foot center features advanced spaces for robotics, mechatronics, high-voltage EV systems, and real-world manufacturing simulation.

T&H provided civil engineering and site development services for the training center campus, including site planning, grading, roadway layout, stormwater systems, water and sewer infrastructure, erosion control measures, and landscape architecture coordination. Working alongside SSOE Group, Choate Construction, Terracon, and Dulohery Weeks, our team helped support a future-focused training hub built to accelerate workforce development across Georgia’s growing EV sector.

The meeting and tour offered a meaningful look at the scale, collaboration, and innovation behind a project connected to one of the state’s most significant economic development milestones.

Thomas & Hutton (T&H) was proud to support the Boys & Girls Club of Rutherford County's annual Stake & Burger fundraiser, an event that brought community members together in support of local youth and raised more than $160,000 for the organization.

Serving approximately 2,000 young people throughout Rutherford County, the Boys & Girls Club provides opportunities, resources, and mentorship that help children and teens learn, grow, and succeed. Guests also had the opportunity to hear from Olympic legend Michael Phelps, who shared personal experiences and insights as the evening's featured speaker.

We're grateful for the opportunity to support organizations that make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. Thank you to the Boys & Girls Club of Rutherford County for the important work you do every day to invest in the next generation.

T&H Signing Day is all about celebrating interns who chose to build their careers with us.

Thomas and Hutton (T&H) welcomes Ryan Brinson to the roster! After spending time as a T&H intern, Ryan has officially signed on full-time as a Designer on our Environmental team in our Savannah office.

From gaining hands-on experience and learning from our team to contributing to meaningful projects, Ryan has already made a positive impact. Now, he's stepping into this next chapter as a T&H Solutioneer. We're excited to see him continue to grow in his career and bring his talents to our Environmental team.

Connecting design to construction in the field!

Our Charlotte team visited the Tennison project in Newton, NC, where we witnessed the installation of a tapping sleeve and valve on one of the City of Hickory’s 36-inch water transmission mains. Team members Kelsey Lynch, Caleb Brehm, Luca Desmond, and intern Sammy Knight had the opportunity to observe this critical phase of construction firsthand.

Experiences like these provide valuable insight into how engineering designs come to life in the field, creating meaningful opportunities for knowledge sharing, professional development, and a deeper understanding of the infrastructure we help deliver!

Thomas & Hutton (T&H) is proud to recognize Jamie Arkins and Melanie Farrant for their outstanding support of Blood Cancer United’s Visionaries of the Year campaign in Savannah.

As members of Team Grumps United, Jamie and Melanie each raised more than $15,000 to support blood cancer patients and their families. Melanie was also named Team Member of the Year.

The 10-week campaign brought together seven fundraising teams and raised $475,904 for Blood Cancer United’s mission. The evening also honored Revel Crosby, a 6-year survivor of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, whose story served as a powerful reminder of the patients and families impacted by this work.

Congratulations to Jamie, Melanie, and all who helped move this important mission forward.

Project Spotlight: Construction is underway at New Holland Golf Club, a new approximately 200-acre semi-private golf destination taking shape near Batesburg, South Carolina.

Designed by course architect Brian Schneider to work with the property's natural terrain, mature vegetation, and landscape features, the course is being developed to provide a distinctive golf experience while preserving the character of the site. The project also includes a clubhouse and maintenance facility to support operations and enhance the guest experience.

Thomas & Hutton (T&H) is proud to support owner Jeff Warne and the project team, including Green Tee Golf and Newkirk Environmental, as this exciting new destination continues to take shape in the Midlands region.

Thomas & Hutton (T&H) is proud to announce two leadership transitions within our Environmental practice.

Tyler Davidek, PE, steps into the role of Environmental Group Leader in Savannah, where he will provide leadership and technical oversight for environmental project teams, support project delivery, and continue strengthening client relationships across the region. Since joining T&H, Tyler's built extensive experience with utility infrastructure projects, helping communities and clients address complex environmental challenges related to water and wastewater.

Later this summer, Matt Frazier, PE, will relocate from our Savannah office to Nashville, where he will serve as Environmental Group Leader. Matt brings strong technical expertise, trusted client relationships, and a collaborative leadership style that will support continued growth in the Nashville market.

We're excited to announce a leadership transition in Thomas & Hutton's Greenville region.

Ryan Page, PE was named Civil Department Manager / Regional Director for Greenville, expanding his leadership role after more than a decade of contributing to the success of our clients, projects, and teams across the Upstate.

Since joining T&H in 2014, Ryan helps shape growth throughout the region while building strong client relationships and mentoring team members. In his new role, he will lead regional business development efforts, strengthen client partnerships, and help guide the continued growth of our Greenville operations. Ryan will also continue overseeing the Greenville Civil Department, providing leadership and support to project teams while maintaining the high level of service our clients expect.
