• Drainage easement relocation, requiring municipal coordination, permitting, and formal documentation

• Ledge removal and extensive excavation to accommodate new structures

• Tree removal and replacement requirements, carefully coordinated with local ordinances and design intent

• An underperforming well, requiring the irrigation system to be redesigned around a municipal water supply

The finished landscape may feel effortless. Getting there rarely is.

During construction, a full-scale mockup gave the landscape architect, client, and masonry craftsmen an opportunity to refine the stone selection, coursing, and jointing before the walls were built.

After: Fieldstone retaining walls are paired with bluestone steps to create a natural transition from the lawn to a  private terrace.

The final planting of the summer season is complete.

With leaf mulch spread and the path prepared for pine needle duff, the landscape is beginning to settle into place.

Grateful to be bringing this project to a close with such a talented team. Perennial to come in fall with a coolers season.
