🚨 Service Update – 2 Broke Vets 🚨

After a visit to the ER today for respiratory issues, services will continue, just at a slower but steady pace while I recover.

I may need to make slight scheduling adjustments or lean on my helpers more than usual, but my goal remains the same: keeping jobs moving forward and taking care of my customers.

I am currently being seen at the hospital due to an unexpected health issue.

The plan is still to complete all scheduled services as soon as possible. Once I have more information, I will personally reach out with an updated game plan. Depending on the situation, that may mean either returning to finish the jobs myself or sending my trusted helpers to ensure every scheduled service is completed TODAY.

Sometimes all you can say is thank you to your customers.

What started as a simple leaf cleanup quickly turned into a multi-day sod installation marathon. From bare dirt and worn-out ground to a lush green lawn, we were trusted to bring our customer’s vision to life.

Projects like this don’t happen overnight. It took planning, prep work, grading, hauling, and a whole lot of sweat to make it happen—but seeing the transformation makes every minute worth it.

We’re not finished yet either. There’s still more planned for this property, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.

🚨LOOK AT THE BEFORE / AFTER ON THIS ONE🚨

This backyard had reached the point where much of the lawn had simply given up. Years of shade, tree roots, traffic, and thinning turf had left large areas of bare dirt and patchy grass.
Instead of a quick patch job, we stripped it back and gave it a fresh start with a full sod installation.

✅ Site preparation
✅ Grading and leveling
✅ Fresh sod installation
✅ Watering plan provided
✅ Ready to establish into a thick, healthy lawn

The best part? This isn’t a wide-open sunny yard. It’s a heavily shaded backyard surrounded by mature trees, making establishment much more challenging than your average sod project.
A few weeks of watering and care will allow the roots to knit into the soil and continue filling in, but the transformation is already night and day.

Little photo dump from the last week or so here at 2 Broke Vets 🇺🇸

Spring has officially turned into full blown lawn recovery season. We’ve been tackling everything from:
• First cuts & stripe work
• Overseeding bare/problem areas
• Lawn recovery & patch repair
• Mulch bed cleanups
• Leaf removal/property cleanups
• Edge work & detail trimming
• Weekly and biweekly maintenance

Some of these lawns were coming out of winter rough, thin, patchy, and compacted — but with proper mowing, seed, cleanup, and consistency they’re already bouncing back fast 🌱

The green coated seed shown is treated moisture retention seed to help improve germination and early growth. Couple that with watering and warmer temps and these yards should start thickening up nicely over the next few weeks.

This Media Monday is a Memorial Monday 🇺🇸

Today at 2 Broke Vets we remember the sacrifice far too many friends, family members, and brothers-in-arms gave so we could live the lives we do today. May they continue their watch at Heaven’s and Valhalla’s gates.

For Memorial Day week only:
• Run & Go Mow Special — $26 basic mow & edge
• Veterans & immediate family — full standard mow for $22 in honor of the 22

We are currently booking:
• Lawn care
• Landscaping
• Property cleanups
• Minor construction projects & repairs

As well as continuing our full year property maintenance services.

Welcome to Media Monday! The at least one day a week I remember to stop working long enough to actually post on socials 😂
This spring weather has had us BUSY.
This week alone we’ve been tackling everything from full property cleanups, dump runs, lawn recovery work, edging, mulch refreshes, and prepping yards for complete sod renewals — all while keeping up with our normal mowing routes and maintenance packages.
A couple of these properties were hit hard after winter and are finally starting to come back to life. Seeing a yard go from packed with debris and bare dirt to something clean, usable, and ready for summer is always the rewarding part of the job.

This morning Aaron Brooks came out and helped us tackle a MASSIVE stump removal project for a customer 💪🇺🇸
We cut, dug, pulled, and hauled the entire stump out, then:
• Filled and leveled the hole
• Fixed a low spot in the yard
• Combined 2 patchy mulch beds into one clean area
• Prepped everything for a healthier, cleaner lawn moving forward
Big transformations don’t always start with pretty pictures — sometimes it starts with hard labor, chainsaws, dirt, and teamwork.
