A little manual labor is always good for you. I take pride in my work. This was all hand cut and carry. Only help was with a chainsaw and an extra pair of hands for one day:

Nice repair Project. Despite repeated delays because of the home owners we were able to complete the project described in our contract.

I had a customer in High Falls NY like this. Working on her cabin repair and she kept asking my crew and myself for additional work. Her attitude changed when I told her it’s not in our contract or scope of work. I said I could issue a change order and now she refuses her final bill for the completed work in her contract. Mechanics Lien is being sent.

Just figured I would share this. Many of us give multiple estimates a week and half turn into contracts.

I had a customer want complete material breakdown on an estimate so they can compare it with other contractors.

I crawled under their house to look at the substructure because there was a sag going to their exterior wall. Come yo find out they have a rotted sill plate. She had the last contractor didn’t notice that. I told her that’s why I bring three-quarter inch ball bearing with me.

I shook her hands, said thank you for the opportunity and walked away.

An estimate is one thing but giving you a complete material list and a step by step scope of work on how I am going to repair everything is another thing.

Resurfacing a deck for a customer in Kingston NY. The deck and stairs totaled 1500sq ft. I had to re-level the deck joists, install deck shoring, replace the stringers, install hangers and more.
After installing the kick boards on the front stairs the homeowner now would like them on all the stairs after seeing how well they look.
I will be going back to install the rest once material comes in.

A nice Repair Project on a Montana Log Home. The customer had a tree fall and it her house May of 2025 causing extensive damage. She went through multiple contractors until she met me. I came up with the strategy to fix her house, saved her money in the process. Definitely one of the most difficult customers we have had.
