This tray is a big fail.
I planted this with snapdragons, feverfew, scabiosa, violas, and black-eyed Susan's two weeks ago. I knew what I was doing. This isn't my first rodeo.
But I made a fatal error--I got the soil too wet. The ones that sprouted succumbed to dampening off, and the rest never germinated. What a set back! I needed these to be cute seedlings already, and instead I am starting all over again.
Gratefully, so many things have gone right this year, that I can look at this mess of a tray, sigh, and move on. Sometimes you just have to make lemonade from the lemons that are sent your way. I have planted way too many seeds to let one tray get under my skin!
I think there's a life lesson in this story. Maybe I shouldn't sweat the small stuff? Or maybe I need to roll with the punches more often? Regardless of what the lesson is, I hope you'll give yourself some grace the next time you make a mistake. After all, we're all in the process of learning. Sometimes that means the plants die and the seeds don't grow, but we can always start over and try again. 🩷
