The American flag has always meant something deeply personal to me.
My family came to this country after escaping the Soviet Union, and that experience shaped the way I see freedom, opportunity, and the privilege of building a life in America.
Today, on Memorial Day, I remember the brave men and women who gave their lives so we could live with that freedom.
For families like mine, their sacrifice is not just history. It is part of the reason we were able to start over, build a future, and call this country home.
That is why lighting this flag means so much to me. It is a small way to honor the country that gave my family hope, safety, and a new beginning.
Thank you to for your continued support of veterans and our community.
Today, we remember.
Today, we honor.
Today, we are grateful. :us:
