Everyone has their favorite HVAC brand. But honestly, the install matters a LOT. Get a good unit, have it installed properly, keep up with maintenance, and you're already ahead.

This is definitely not how you want to handle refrigerant. It looks like the threaded connection was backed out and the refrigerant charge was released instead of being properly recovered.

Yeah that's definitely not supposed to look like that. That heat pump looks like it wasn't properly defrosting, so the outdoor coil basically turned into a block of ice.

This compressor is done. Oil everywhere, and it looks like the failure happened right around the electrical side. Definitely not what you want to find when you open up the unit.

Honestly... could be a few different things. It might be a reheat coil, but we'd need more info before calling it. Right now, it's just a coil.
