Seibert Architects PA Over seventy years of design rooted in honesty, clarity, and climatic sensitivity Craig AIA. History

Edward J. Now headed by Samuel C.

Since our establishment in 1955, we have been recognized as a leader of the Sarasota School of Architecture. Today we continue our legacy in architecture, interiors and planning with an award-winning team led by firm principal Samuel C. Holladay AIA and Michael Lee Epstein AIA with design team members Dale Parks AIA and William J. Seibert Architects offers complete professional services including architecture, interior design and planning. The firm’s experience includes public sector projects, private residences, high rise condominiums, commercial offices, historical restorations, educational buildings, and large-scale resorts. Seibert Architects has received recognition for design excellence and its ability to solve architectural problems in a variety of work based on sensitivity to the Florida Gulf Coast environment and concern for its inhabitants. To that end, client participation is facilitated throughout the course of design to arrive at architecture that is programmatically and aesthetically reflective to client needs, site context, and budget. We continue to meet each new project with creative and effective solutions that balances the built environment with the natural environment creating a timeless architecture. Seibert FAIA began his professional career in the Sarasota office of the world-renowned architect, Paul Rudolph. In 1955, he established his own firm in Sarasota and was nationally recognized early in his career as a leader in what is now referred to as the Sarasota School of Architecture. His work was widely praised for demonstrating that excellence was possible even in small projects with minimal budgets. Using ordinary materials and strong geometrical forms he made a new architecture remarkably suited to Florida’s semi-tropical environment. As the scale and nature of his practice grew from small houses to large projects, Seibert and his design team demonstrated great versatility while continuing to explore and refine a design philosophy of articulate geometry and sculpturally elegant spaces. Today, Seibert Architects PA continues this design legacy. Holladay AIA, a member of the firm since 1972, and Michael Lee Epstein AIA, a member of the firm since 1989, Seibert Architects PA upholds its commitment to architecture as art.

We are very happy to be recognized once again by Forbes in its 2026 America’s Top Residential Architects & Best-In-State Residential Architects lists. The distinction highlights commitment to architectural excellence, innovative design, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Jardin du Ciel was submitted for consideration and served as the basis for our 2026 inclusion. The featured project on our profile is: “Heirs to Sarasota’s early modernists, Seibert excels at addressing flood elevations without looking like it’s doing it.”

Thank you to our clients and collaborators who make this possible!

An account by Tim Seibert on the Hiss Studio: “The studio was designed as a steel-framed box supported by two rows of exposed columns. A small foyer sits on the ground level with a detailed circular stairway leading to the first floor. Walking up the staircase, one enters a large open room enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The steel columns continue through the first floor, which includes compatible open bookshelf elements. The studio was intended to function as an office for administering residential developments on Lido Shores.”

Bayport Beach & Tennis Club’s original program was to place 136 multi-family units on a 25-acre site. The site buffered a single-family neighborhood to the north and a mid-rise multi-family neighborhood to the south. The natural environment, consisting of a large stand of indigenous pines and mangrove wetlands along the bay, was important to the developer and to the city. Minimum impact to the natural environment was desired.

The typical unit types were arranged in one- and two-story buildings that were situated around pedestrian and vehicular areas. The natural stand of pines, mangroves, and other indigenous plant material was preserved and used as a buffer and a backdrop of green to the building clusters’ simple white, brown, and blue colors.

Built in 1980.
