Polishing makes a terrazzo floor look finished. Sealing is what keeps it that way.

A properly sealed surface resists staining, slows the return of dullness, and makes routine cleaning far less work. Without it, everything that lands on the floor gets a little more opportunity to sink in.

It's a small step at the end of a long process and it does a disproportionate amount of the work.

Terrazzo is one of the few trades where the technique hasn't really been replaced.

Tools have improved. Abrasives are better. But the fundamental sequence — pour, cure, grind, hone, polish — is close to what it was when this company started in 1956.

There's something worth respecting in that. It means the skill is transferable across generations, and it means a floor installed decades ago can be brought back by someone who understands the same process.

Old methods, still the right ones.
