A closer look at the tile work in this bathroom.

The shower combines a repeating leaf-pattern mosaic above with rectangular tile laid in a traditional running bond below. The custom curved-front vanity by Yates Woodworking carries that more traditional feel through the rest of the room.

Two very different tile shapes, one pretty great combination.

Because apparently a sink can have mood lighting too. ✨

This translucent stone sink is backlit from below, allowing the light to shine through the stone and show off its natural pattern.

Definitely not your average bathroom sink.

A little color goes a long way.

Soft green tile brings nature indoors. Carrying it across the walls and into the built-in niche gives the whole space a calming, zen feel.

What color brings you zen?

Bathrooms don’t have to fit neatly into one design style.

We created a space mixing warm wood, hammered metal sinks, industrial details, and a curved walk-in shower. It’s rustic, modern, and a little unexpected.

It’s super fun to start a bathroom remodel by looking at the vast array of tile, vanity and fixture options. But the decisions that make the biggest difference start with how the bathroom needs to work.

Is there enough storage? Does the layout make sense? Where do you need lighting? Do you want a tub, a larger shower, two sinks—or would you rather have more counter space?

Once those decisions are made, choosing finishes becomes a lot easier because you’re designing around a plan instead of trying to make everything fit afterward.

Planning a bathroom remodel in Santa Cruz County? We can help you work through the process from design through construction.

A shower bench and built-in niches may seem like simple details, but they’re worth planning before the tile goes up.

A bench adds a place to sit, shave or set things down, while built-in niches keep everyday products within reach.

For this bathroom, the wall tile is from Mission Tile’s Barely There collection, with Cross and Stars on the floor.

Not every statement tile needs to be bold.
The shape of this bathroom floor tile creates the pattern, while the soft, neutral color keeps it from taking over the room. It’s an unexpected detail that you notice more the longer you look.

Would you choose a patterned shape or a classic tile for your bathroom floor?

Two bathrooms. Two perspectives. One home.

For this remodel, each homeowner took the lead on designing their own bathroom—choosing the details and features that mattered most to them.

Their individual choices created two distinctly different spaces, but you can still see their shared aesthetic running through both.

Which one would you choose?

Practical doesn’t have to mean boring.

A laundry room needs to work hard, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun with it. In this compact space, patterned tile carries from the floor up the back wall, adding personality without taking up an inch of usable space.

A little design goes a long way.
