Sometimes you actually need the gear you carry.
On our last trip to Hollister Hills with 4x4 & More, we took the Jeep M715 out on the trails and, as tends to happen with old Jeeps, it needed a little attention.
Up at Top of the World, the parking brake needed an adjustment. Fortunately, we had two things in the truck that made the job a whole lot easier: our Jeep Tool Roll and Utility Blanket.
The tool roll had what we needed to make the fix right there on the trail, and the utility blanket meant we weren’t crawling around in the dust and rocks underneath the M715.
Simple gear. Very useful when you actually need it.
Our vehicle-specific Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco tool kits are designed to live in the vehicle, with the tools organized and ready instead of rattling around loose in a box. And the 72” × 60” utility blankets are just as useful for trail repairs, protecting the cargo area, covering gear, camping, or working around the shop.
After Hollister, this setup is definitely staying in the M715. Now we need a few more for the other rigs.
Sometimes the best gear is just the stuff you’re really glad you packed when something goes wrong.
