This new series is finally starting to come together, and I’m so excited to share it with you! 💛 Each piece has as a charcoal sketch, and I’ve been loving the warmth and texture this medium brings to the work.

I’ve been slowly building this new series, and it’s finally starting to feel like it’s finding its shape.

There are lots of underlayers in these panels, along with loose charcoal sketches and a softer, quieter palette than I usually work with.

It’s still unnamed, but I’m excited to share more as it unfolds. Stay tuned for the details.

Our next Monthly Creative Workshop is Thursday, September 10, 6 to 8 PM, and this one’s a little unique.

Instead of everyone working on their own, the whole group works on a single shared surface. We draw, paint, and layer, moving around the table so everyone’s marks end up in everyone’s work. It builds slowly into something none of us could have made alone.

And then, at the end, we cut it apart. Everyone goes home with a section of the whole thing.
One communal piece of art, all of us creating together. One painting shaped by many hands, where everyone takes a piece home.

All experience levels welcome, always. Whether you create all the time or have never thought of yourself as artistic, you belong at this table. Simple materials, gentle guidance, good music and a lighthearted room.

The beginning of a new painting—where the energy feels raw and full of possibility. I love the movement in the underlayers: expressive brushstrokes, drips, splashes, and fragments of writing that may or may not remain as the work evolves.

Sometimes the early marks offer a glimpse of what the painting could become; other times, unexpected compositions emerge simply by cropping and looking more closely. I’m excited to see where this larger canvas takes me.

We painted abstract landscapes last night.

Same room, same materials, completely different ways of seeing — and that’s exactly the point.
Everyone was swapping stories, leaning over to see what someone else was working on, laughing at the happy accidents.

This isn’t a class to master something. It’s a standing invitation to come back to the creative part of yourself you might have set aside — and to meet friendly people while you’re at it.

Next one’s Thursday, September 10. Come make something, and hang out with friends.

These western gals have layers of texture, real depth, and no shortage of personality or confidence. The piece might not be done yet — still deciding — but for now they’re happy hanging out in the studio.

A Creative Workshop Aug 13 - Abstract Landscapes

The first one is on the calendar. Come make something with us.

A Monthly Creative Workshop, second Thursdays, and our first is Thursday, August 13, 6 to 8 PM.
This is about coming together, and creativity is just how we do it. Whether you consider yourself creative or have never thought of yourself that way, you are welcome at this table. Expect a lighthearted atmosphere, simple materials, and gentle guidance, everyone begins at the same place, exploring something new together.

This month: abstract landscapes. We will start with ink sketches in a journal you take home, play with small color studies, and finish by painting an abstract landscape on a 5x5 canvas that is yours to keep.

No experience needed, ever. Adults 18+. Come with friends, or come on your own and meet some. 8 to 12 seats, all materials included.

A cowgirl showed up out of nowhere on this small piece — started with base layers and ended up somewhere I didn’t plan. Feels like it could be a path toward more figurative work. Sometimes you just follow the nudges as they show up on the canvas.
