In just 3 months; Joseph and his crew returned the Carter Bridge in Waterville to two-way traffic. Milling, paving, new bridge joints, deck repairs, membrane and other critical repairs were performed.

88% of this project was self performed by Gordon team members. This high self-performance factor allows us to drive and dictate construction schedules and deliver projects FASTER 🏁

Minor work still remains; however, we are back to two-way traffic in Waterville.

Gordon Contracting has been selected by the City of Bangor to reconstruct a section of the Kenduskeag Steam retaining wall, located in Bangor’s downtown.

Our method of construction, history of successful in-water work, and excellent performance with the City were all factors in awarding to Gordon.

We look forward to another collaboration with the City and their engineering department. As always when construction begins we will strive to minimize the overall duration to reduce impacts for area businesses and residents.

ABBOT to GREENVILLE Highway Reconstruction:

As this $25.5 million construction contract comes to a close; I would like to recognize those who made it possible. MaineDOT administered the contract which was heavily supported and funded thanks to U.S. Senator Susan Collins office. This project employed hundreds of craft workers for 2 construction seasons and transformed the Moosehead Trail from a daunting journey into an enjoyable ride.

The project was managed by Site Super Nick Schmiedlehner (an Abbot Native), Project Manager Drew Straehle of Dover, project Foreman Alec Oelschlegel of Greenville. The paving foreman Jason Morse had countless 1600-2000 ton days of production which lead to a very fast turnover, with ride test results that put Gordon in a project ride bonus. The majority of our workers live in Piscataquis County, which brings a great level of pride for everyone involved.

-This is our home.

The project was delivered on time, with 25 days remaining under contract to complete our remaining punch list items.

Thoughtful planning nearly 18 months ago allowed us to complete this 24 mile project in about 200 days of construction.

I’m incredibly thankful for the crew that worked so hard to deliver this project for our neighbors, and local taxpayers.

The crew flipped another phase AHEAD of schedule at the Bangor International Airport. 8186 TONS of pavement placed this week by the paving crew in Bangor and Greenville.
