⚡ "Why can't you just tell me what's wrong over the phone?"

It's a question we hear all the time.

Imagine calling a doctor and saying, "My stomach hurts." The doctor can't prescribe the right treatment without first examining you. Electrical problems work the same way.

A breaker that keeps tripping, lights that flicker, or outlets that stop working can all have multiple causes. Replacing the wrong part wastes time and money. That's why professional electricians troubleshoot first—to find the actual problem before recommending a repair.

In our newest blog, we explain:
✔️ Why troubleshooting is necessary
✔️ What happens during an electrical diagnosis
✔️ Why you're paying for knowledge and experience—not just time
✔️ How a proper diagnosis can save you money in the long run

If you've ever wondered why electricians charge for troubleshooting, this article is for you.

⚡ How Long Can a Whole-Home Generator Run?

It's one of the questions we get asked the most after a storm.

The answer isn't as simple as "until the fuel runs out."

A generator's runtime depends on:
🏡 The size of your home
⚡ How much electricity you're using
🔥 Whether it's powered by natural gas or propane
🛢️ The size of your propane tank (if applicable)

Many homeowners are surprised to learn that a properly installed natural gas standby generator can often run for days—or even weeks—as long as natural gas service remains available. Propane generators can also provide extended backup power when paired with the right tank size.

We put together a guide explaining what affects generator runtime, how fuel consumption changes with electrical load, and how to choose the right generator for your home.

🔨 Thinking about remodeling your home? Before you hire someone to handle the electrical work, take a minute to read this.

A general contractor plays an important role in coordinating a project—but when it comes to your home's electrical system, experience and specialized training matter.

We've been called to many homes after remodels where we found hidden electrical problems such as:
⚡ Overloaded circuits
⚡ Loose electrical connections
⚡ Improper grounding

Many of these issues aren't obvious until they become expensive—or even dangerous.

That's why we wrote a new blog explaining why homeowners should make sure their electrical work is completed by a licensed electrician.

Whether you're remodeling a kitchen, finishing a garage, or adding new lighting, understanding who is doing the electrical work can make all the difference.

🏠 Why did half my house lose power?

It's one of the most confusing electrical issues homeowners experience.

You may notice:
⚡ Some lights work while others don't
⚡ Certain outlets have no power
⚡ Appliances stop working unexpectedly
⚡ One side of the home seems unaffected

While a tripped breaker is a common cause, partial power loss can also be related to GFCI outlets, utility problems, neutral issues, or concerns within the electrical panel.

We recently published a new article explaining several possible causes and what homeowners should know when part of their home suddenly loses power.

⚡ Does your GFCI outlet keep tripping?

If you've ever lost power to an outlet in your kitchen, bathroom, garage, or outside, there's a good chance a GFCI outlet was involved.

While these devices are designed to improve safety, frequent tripping can be frustrating and may indicate:

🔹 Moisture exposure
🔹 A faulty appliance
🔹 Wiring issues
🔹 A worn-out GFCI outlet
🔹 Problems elsewhere on the circuit

Before replacing the outlet or repeatedly pressing the reset button, it's important to understand what may be causing the issue.

We recently published a blog article explaining common causes of GFCI trips and when it may be time for professional troubleshooting.

Not all electrical problems have the same solution.

Two homes can have the exact same symptom—a tripping breaker, flickering lights, or an outlet that stopped working—and require completely different repairs.

That's why we perform an electrical evaluation before providing options. During an evaluation, we assess the condition of the system, identify potential safety concerns, and gather the information needed to provide accurate recommendations based on your home's specific needs.

Just completed a panel upgrade for a barn in Krum, TX.

The existing panel was exposed to the elements, which was causing breakers to trip frequently and creating reliability issues for the property. On top of that, the system wasn’t built to handle the increasing electrical demand.

We installed a new panel designed for the environment and load requirements, giving the owner a much safer and more dependable setup.

If you’re dealing with tripping breakers or an outdated panel, it may be time to take a closer look. We’re proud to serve Krum and surrounding areas.
