Cabinets in. Floors covered. Trim going up. The crew was feeling pretty good about it.

Then the walkthrough started. Trim details, paint colors and all the small details get a second look while changes are still easy to make.

It might add a few items to the punch list, but it's a big part of how a house becomes a home that feels right.

Cabinet hardware is one of the smallest selections in a home, and one of the few you'll touch every single day.

A few things worth considering when you choose it:
• Hold it before you commit. Weight, edges, and how it feels in your hand matter more than how it looks on a screen.
• Scale it to the door or drawer. Longer pulls suit wide drawers and tall doors. Smaller pieces can look lost on large cabinets.
• Repeat your metals. If brass shows up on the pulls, echoing it once or twice more in the room, like on a faucet or a light fixture, makes it feel intentional.

Here, slim brass T-pulls stand out against black cabinetry, a small detail with a lot of personality.

Which would you choose: brass, black, or something unexpected? 👇

Let’s settle a kitchen debate. 👀

When designing your dream kitchen, what’s one feature you absolutely refuse to compromise on?

✨ A massive kitchen island
✨ Cabinets with plenty of storage
✨ A walk-in pantry
✨ A professional-style range

We’re curious — what’s your non-negotiable?

A little behind the scenes. 🎥

We sat down with Ian to talk about Fig Tree Homes—how we build, why we do things the way we do, and what matters most when we're entrusted with someone's home.

There’s a lot more to building a custom home than what you see when it’s finished. It’s the decisions made along the way, the details that never get noticed, and the people behind them.

Building Homes, with Intention.

What you don’t see matters just as much as what you do.

The planning.
The craftsmanship.

Some spaces are designed to make you stop and look twice.

From the dramatic floor-to-ceiling tile to the contrast of the dark shower and warm finishes, every material in this primary bath was chosen to work together while still making its own statement.

And that freestanding tub? The perfect finishing touch. 🛀

Custom doesn’t always mean choosing from more options.

Sometimes it means creating something that doesn’t exist yet.

For this home, our client hand-created individual tiles for her backsplash—each one representing a little piece of the life and family this home is being built around.

Because the best custom homes aren’t defined by a particular style.

They’re defined by the people who live in them.

And this is exactly the kind of detail that makes a house impossible to duplicate.

A quieter home starts inside the walls.

For this client, added insulation was used specifically for noise dampening — helping soften everyday sounds like TVs, conversations, laundry, plumbing, and activity between rooms.

A small detail you may never see, but you’ll definitely appreciate.

That’s the beauty of building custom.
