Wendell Berry 💚 it’s hard to find another one like him.

As I learned of his passing this week I told Spencer that I was sad to know we would never meet in this life, as I always believed we would make good conversation and eventually great friends. He replied that we are already great friends - we share common interests and curiosities, we advocate for the environment and for its care, we shared the same earth. It’s nice to know the connection between him and I was there despite not actually meeting ever in person.

Quick getaway out east to reset… now it’s time to get back into the gardens!

I come home full of new inspiration from walking around East Hampton, Sag Harbor, Amangansett, and Montauk gandering around all the gardens the towns had to offer.

Let’s get the North Shore of Nassau blooming like it is out east 💜🤍💚🌱

If you haven’t had the chance to deadhead your hydrangea bush (remove the flowers that are fading and losing color and vibrancy) now is the time. Doing this during the summer will give the plant the chance to grow more buds to bloom for a second flush!

Full installation on this porch! Had so much fun adding a ‘neutral yet rich with foliage and life’ front porch pot scheme. These collection of new Veradek Outdoor planters will be an excellent investment in their new home - they are designed to endure all weather/seasons and their matte like finish is modern and easy to design with. Purple heuchera and white flowers like Proven Winners fairytrail bride cascading hydrangeas and floating astilbe make this pop! I also love the subtle depth and fullness the Himalayan sweet box adds, and in spring will draw more eye with its tiny white flowers. Can’t wait to see this installation mature 🤍💚💜

Come in close and you may be able to smell the dreamy gardenia floral scent coming from these topiaries! These were planted in the spring and recently tuned up for summer with petunias, geraniums, and Dusty miller. I love their height and scale - they make for quite an entrance 🌟🇺🇸🩵🩵🩵
