HOW TO GROW GARLIC WORKSHOP

This garlic-growing workshop teaches how to prepare soil, plant cloves in the fall, fertilize, manage pests, harvest, and cure bulbs. Participants will have hands-on planting garlic at the library and take home a bulb of garlic to plant at home!

Greentree Naturals FARM STAND Thursdays, 3-5:30 (2003 Rapid Lightning Road). While the fresh veggies are still abundant, it's a great time to preserve the harvest before cooler weather settles in to build a pantry that carries you through the winter! We take pride in offering tender, fresh green beans and harvest every 3-4 days to assure freshness. We will have an abundance this week for freezing or canning! We will also have broccoli, cabbage, big eggplant, the first sweet corn, cucumbers, pickling cukes, garlic, garlic braids, fresh harvest salad, and Poblano peppers along with a wide selection of value-added products. It's that time of year for preparing the fresh harvest for winter eating. I've been blanching and freezing beans and broccoli, two of my favorite winter vegetables. We will have a bounty of the all American Provider green beans, Italian green beans and the tender side shoots of broccoli for filling your winter food stock! We also have beautiful eggplant, cauliflower, assorted summer squash, mini-English cucumbers, slicing cukes and pickling cukes, the first of the cherry tomatoes, garlic for eating and/or planting, and garlic braids, along with some other certified organic, farm fresh harvest veggies! Thursday, 8/27, 3-5:30pm; 1/4 mile past the Pack River Store on Rapid Lightning. CASH or CHECK ONLY!

Our Farm Stand is open every Thursday, 3-5:30. Our prices for certified organic produce are some of the most reasonable in Bonner County! We only sell what we grow and provide the freshest of the harvest every week. Proud to be one of the oldest, long-time certified organic farms in the region. We go through this annual certification just for you to assure you that we really are what we say we are! Time to start stocking up your pantry for winter! We have Italian Green Beans, Big beautiful eggplant, cabbages, broccoli, pickling cucumbers, Mini-English cukes, 9 kinds of summer squash, garlic for eating and/or planting, garlic braids, assorted organic jams, and more! 2003 Rapid Lightning road, 1/4 mile past the Pack River store. Our Farm Stand is open on Thursdays 3-5:30. We are one of the oldest certified organic farms in the region and providing the best that our gardens have to offer for 32 years! I believe it is important that you know your farmer and I am there every week to chat, share recipes, answer gardening questions and more! Everything we offer was harvested within 24 hours of our Farm Stand! We will be adding more varieties of garlic every week along with additional veggies from the gardens. 1/4 mile past the Pack River Store on Rapid Lightning (2003). Know your farmer, know your food!

We will be opening for the harvest season this Thursday 7/16. Did you know that broccoli has more vitamin C than an orange? It acts as an antioxidant to support immune system and promotes "good" gut bacteria. I have to say broccoli is one of my favorite veggies! Celebrating 34 years of being certified organic! We look forward to seeing you!

FERTILZING ORGANICALLY WORKSHOP Saturday, May 23, 10a.m to 12: 30p.m at Greentree Naturals. At the heart of all organic growing is the art and science of natural fertilization. Healthy soil is the foundation of organic gardening! It nurtures healthy plants which grow better and brings strength to the stresses caused by heat, cold, drought, pests, diseases, rapid growth, etc.
Cost $40, pre-registration required.

MAY 23 - Fertilizing Organically: Fertile soil is the first step in increasing yields. When it comes to adding nutrients to your garden soil, there are many organic options. Cultural practices such as cover cropping, and composting will ensure balanced nutrition of your soil in the long run, and organic amendments will help your garden thrive. Learn about foliar feeding, which plants are heavy-feeders, and which ones are not, and how to take a soil sample.
