Your gutters have a big job to do. They should look good doing it, too.

At McLeran Roofing & Gutters, we install 5½-inch seamless aluminum fascia-mounted gutters that combine a clean, finished look with dependable performance.

Here’s why they’re a smart investment for your home:

Colors to complement your home: Choose from a variety of colors to coordinate with your trim and exterior.

Rust and corrosion resistant: Aluminum doesn’t rust, making it a dependable choice for handling rainy seasons.

Lightweight and sag resistant: When properly installed and supported, aluminum gutters provide strength without unnecessary weight.

Cost effective and long lasting: With proper care, aluminum gutters typically last 20–30 years.

Minimal upkeep: Routine debris removal and checking that water flows freely help keep them working well.

Recyclable: When it’s time for replacement, the aluminum can be recycled.

And we back our installation with a 5-year workmanship warranty, so you can feel confident in the work behind your gutters.

Rain is coming. Is your home ready?

Fall in Marin County can be a little deceiving. Blue skies, warm afternoons…and then suddenly, the first real storm shows up.

That’s usually when clogged gutters start overflowing, downspouts back up, debris in roof valleys becomes a problem, and those little roof issues we ignored all summer decide to make themselves known.

The good news? There’s quite a bit you can check before the rain arrives and you don’t need to climb onto your roof to do it.

We put together a Marin County Homeowner’s Fall Checklist covering gutters, downspouts, roof debris, trees, skylights, flashing, attic warning signs, and what happens to roofing schedules once rainy season begins.

And if you’re already under contract with McLeran? We explain our “roof babysitting” policy, too.

A little attention now can save you from discovering a problem during a 2:00 a.m. rainstorm.

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARTÍN! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating someone who brings a whole lot more to McLeran Roofing & Gutters than roofing knowledge and experience.

If you know Martín, you know what kind of person he is. He genuinely wants to see the people around him succeed. He wants you to learn, to grow, to understand why you’re doing something, not just how to get it done. He is always willing to share what he knows, answer a question, teach something new, or give someone the opportunity to become better at what they do.

And somehow, he manages to do all of that without ever taking himself too seriously. 😂

Martín has an incredible sense of humor and a way of making even the longest or most stressful days a little lighter. There’s usually a joke, a story, or a perfectly timed comment coming and working alongside him means you’re probably going to learn something and laugh at some point in the process.

But as much as Martín gives to this company and the people he works with, it’s easy to see that what matters most to him is his family. ❤️

He and Sara have built a beautiful life together, with an amazing daughter and, of course, two very important members of the family: Gus Gus and Archie. 🐾

There are people who are good at what they do, and then there are people who make the people around them better. Martín is one of those people.

We’re incredibly lucky to have his knowledge, his humor, his patience, his encouragement, and most importantly, the genuinely good human being behind all of it.

So today, we hope you get back a little bit of everything you’re constantly giving to everyone else.

Thank you for always teaching, encouraging, laughing, and believing in the people around you.

Here’s to another year of family, dogs, laughter, roofing, questionable jokes, and continuing to make a difference in the lives of the people lucky enough to know you.

Happy Birthday from all of us at McLeran Roofing & Gutters!

GUTTER GUARD SERIES: GOLD — RAINDROP®

We’ve covered our standard gutter protection. Now let’s talk about a completely different style of gutter guard.

Our Gold option is RainDrop® Gutter Guard, and one of its biggest advantages is how it handles water and debris.

Unlike a fine micro-mesh screen designed to filter out virtually everything, RainDrop is designed to keep larger, clog-forming debris out while allowing smaller material to wash through the gutter system.

WHY WE LIKE RAINDROP
RainDrop is built with water flow in mind. The manufacturer specifically designs the system to handle heavy rainfall and high-volume roof valleys, areas where a lot of water can hit the gutter at once.

IT SHEDS DEBRIS
Leaves and other larger debris are designed to move across the surface instead of collecting inside the gutter. Pine needles can occasionally get through the openings, but RainDrop's design is intended to keep them moving through the gutter system rather than creating a clog.

IT'S LOW PROFILE
It's black and sits along the roofline, so from the ground it tends to disappear into the shadow at the edge of the roof. That's one of the things we like about the finished appearance.

AND IT'S BUILT FOR THE ELEMENTS
RainDrop is made from a UV-stabilized polypropylene designed to withstand long-term exposure outdoors.

The photo we're sharing is one of our actual RainDrop installations, so you can see how clean and unobtrusive the finished system looks.

GOLD - RainDrop®
Maximum water flow. Excellent debris shedding. Clean, low-profile appearance.
And just like everything else we install, the right gutter guard depends on the house. That's why we offer different systems rather than assuming one product is right for every Marin County home.

GUTTER GUARD SERIES: SILVER - LEAFBLASTER PRO

Yesterday we showed you our Bronze E-Z Under Gutter Guards, the standard gutter protection we install during reroofing in WUI areas to ensure compliance.

But what if your home needs a little more?

Meet our Silver option: LeafBlaster Pro Micro-Mesh.
The biggest difference is right in the name: micro-mesh.

Instead of the larger openings found in a traditional screen-style guard, LeafBlaster uses a very fine stainless-steel mesh designed to keep much smaller debris from getting into your gutters.

THIS IS WHERE SILVER REALLY SHINES.
If your property gets hammered with pine needles, small leaves, seed pods, roof grit or other fine debris, upgrading to micro-mesh can make a lot of sense.

It’s also WUI compliant, so you're not giving up the wildfire protection requirements we talked about yesterday.

And the photo above 👆 is an actual LeafBlaster installation by our crew. You can see how the micro-mesh creates a much finer barrier across the gutter.

So why doesn't every homeowner automatically need Silver?

Because the right gutter guard depends on what's around your house. If Bronze will do the job, we'll tell you. If your trees and surrounding vegetation make finer debris a constant problem, we'll give you the option to upgrade.

Bronze - E-Z Under: Our standard WUI option.
Silver - LeafBlaster Pro: Finer micro-mesh protection for properties that need more.

We'd rather help you choose the right system for your home than automatically sell you the most expensive one.

Tomorrow: GOLD. And this one works a little differently.

GUTTER GUARD SERIES: BRONZE - E-Z UNDER

If we're reroofing your home in a WUI area, gutter guards aren't just an optional add-on.

We install E-Z Under Gutter Guards as our standard option on WUI reroofing projects to meet the applicable gutter-protection requirement.

These metal screen-style guards help prevent leaves, pine needles and other combustible debris from accumulating inside the gutter, while still allowing water to flow through.

And the photo? That's an actual E-Z Under installation by our crew. You can see some debris sitting on top of the screen rather than collecting down inside the gutter.

WHY DO WE CALL THIS BRONZE?
E-Z Under is our standard WUI option, but standard doesn't necessarily mean it's the best choice for every property.

The amount and type of vegetation surrounding your home makes a difference. A property dealing with larger leaves has different needs than one constantly getting covered in very fine debris.

That's why, when we're reroofing your home, we always give you the option to upgrade your gutter protection if another system is better suited to your property.

BRONZE — E-Z Under
✓ Our standard gutter guard for WUI reroofing projects
✓ Helps prevent debris from accumulating inside the gutter
✓ Durable metal screen construction
✓ Good everyday protection
✓ Upgrade options available

Over the next two posts, we'll show you our Silver and Gold options, what makes them different, and when spending a little more on gutter protection may make sense.

Because the goal isn't to sell every homeowner the most expensive gutter guard.
It's to install the right one for your home.

DO YOU KNOW IF YOUR HOME IS IN A WUI AREA?

If you live in Marin County, this is something every homeowner should know and there’s an easy way to check.

Marin County has an interactive WUI map where you can enter your address and see whether your property falls within a Wildland-Urban Interface area.

Check your address here: https://sl1nk.com/zcf0w7l

So what does that have to do with your gutters?

More than you might think.

Leaves, pine needles and other debris can collect in gutters right along the edge of your roof. In wildfire conditions, wind-blown embers can land in that dry material and create an ignition point.

That’s one reason gutter protection is about more than just keeping your gutters flowing especially here in Marin.

And not all gutter guards are created equal.

At McLeran Roofing & Gutters, we install three different types of gutter protection, and each one has advantages depending on your property, surrounding trees, type of debris and WUI requirements.

🥉 BRONZE — E-Z Under
A powder-coated steel screen that is WUI compliant and works well for leaves and larger debris.

🥈 SILVER — LeafBlaster Pro
A stainless-steel micro-mesh system that is WUI compliant and provides much finer filtration particularly helpful with pine needles and smaller debris.

🥇 GOLD — RainDrop
A completely different style of gutter protection designed for excellent water flow and debris shedding.

Which one is right for your house?

That’s exactly what we’re going to talk about this week.

Over the next three days, we'll take a closer look at Bronze, Silver and Gold, how each one works, what kind of debris it handles best, maintenance, WUI considerations and why we offer more than one option.

🥉 Tomorrow we're starting with BRONZE: E-Z Under.

🍂 FALL IS HERE — AND IN ROOFING, THAT MEANS WINTER PREP STARTS NOW.

The first day of fall is a good time to talk about what the next few months look like at McLeran Roofing & Gutters.

This year, that conversation is especially important.

NOAA is forecasting a very strong El Niño for the 2026–27 winter, and Marin County is already preparing for the possibility of a wetter, more active storm season. That doesn't mean anyone knows exactly how much rain Marin will receive or when it will arrive but it does mean preparing before the storms makes sense. For us, fall and winter change the way we schedule.

Large roofing projects become weather dependent.
Once consistent rain begins, we schedule larger projects around dependable dry windows. We will not tear into a roof when the forecast doesn't give us enough time to safely get your home watertight.

The schedule can move.
A forecast can change quickly. When it does, sometimes an entire week's schedule has to move with it. It can be frustrating, but protecting your home comes before keeping a date on the calendar.

If you're already under contract, we don't forget about you.
If weather or scheduling delays your project and your existing roof develops a leak, we'll come out and stop the leak at no charge until we're able to complete your contracted roof work. Interior damage is excluded.

Smaller work doesn't stop.
Repairs, leak calls, gutter work and smaller projects continue throughout the rainy season whenever conditions allow.

And this year, gutters deserve some extra attention. Marin County is specifically recommending that homeowners clear gutters, drains and downspouts and address drainage issues before the winter storms arrive.

Fall is here. Winter is coming. And we're preparing right along with Marin County.
