Big news for SLO! 🌳✨ The 100-year-old coast live oak tree at Monterey and Nipomo streets is officially staying right where it belongs! In an incredible win for our community, the SLO REP Board of Directors has reversed its decision and will now preserve this historic beauty in its original home. A massive thank you to the dedicated team of volunteer arborists -including Cal Poly’s Matt Ritter and the Urban Tree Foundation’s Brian Kempf -whose expert care and scientific data proved this local treasure is healthy enough to thrive exactly where it stands. Now, instead of being moved, this stunning oak will be integrated right into the landscape, serving as a beautiful, living center piece for the new downtown theater district. Groundbreaking starts next month, with the venue set to open in spring 2028! 🎭

🌳
Greenvale was honored to be asked to do some light pruning on this beauty so the construction team could do their work !!
