🌧️ The first real rain of the season is often when problems with older sewer lines start showing up.
Rising groundwater and heavy rain can expose weaknesses in aging sewer lines and put extra stress on your drainage system. That’s when backups can happen often at the worst possible time.
WORTH CHECKING BEFORE THE FIRST STORM:
🌊 CLEAR THE MAIN LINE
A partially restricted sewer line may seem fine during dry weather. Heavy rain can leave you with much less room for error.
🍂 CHECK OUTDOOR & AREA DRAINS
Leaves, dirt, and debris can build up throughout the dry season. Make sure drains are clear before the rain arrives.
🌳 WATCH FOR ROOT INTRUSION
Tree roots naturally seek moisture and can enter through cracks or weak points in older sewer lines.
🔑 MAKE SURE YOUR CLEANOUT IS ACCESSIBLE
Know where your sewer cleanout is and make sure it isn’t buried under landscaping, planters, or other obstacles. Easy access can make a big difference during an emergency.
A sewage backup is one plumbing emergency you definitely don’t want to deal with during a storm.
Check it now. Sleep easier when the rain starts. 🌧️
