Specializing in custom homes, commercial buildings, and residential remodels throughout the Bay Area.

De Mattei Construction is big enough for specialization and small enough for continual sharing of information about your project. We have developed and continuously improve standard procedures among our professional estimating, project management, administrative support, accounting and customer service departments. These procedures ensure the continuity of your project, regardless of which team member you work with. Our dedicated estimating group custom-tailors your bid based on our detailed database of more than 1,800 completed projects. These documented experiences allow De Mattei to produce a more comprehensive and accurate bid than other contractors with less experience. Our goal is to give you confidence that your budget will meet your expectations, without surprise charges or change orders. Our clients can also count on frequent and detailed information, including a complete "turn over" of all plans, warranty information, and appliance manuals along with the keys to your home. Our customer service group is only a phone call away, and we pride ourselves on follow-through.

🔨 Employee Highlight: Erron 🏗️

This month, we’re excited to recognize someone who has been an important part of the De Mattei Construction team for 14 years!

Construction has always been part of his life. Growing up with a father who was a contractor, he started his own career as a carpenter before moving into project management and eventually into the role he has today. Over the years, his experience, work ethic, and steady presence have made him someone our team truly values and can always count on.

His favorite part of a project is the beginning, when a home starts coming out of the ground and the framing begins to take shape. After 14 years with DMC, what he appreciates most is the quality of work, the people he gets to work alongside, and the trust he’s given to do his job. His advice to anyone starting out in construction is simple: pay attention to the people around you and learn as much as you can along the way.

Outside of work, you’ll most likely find him spending time with his two kids or mountain biking. What started as riding in his 20s eventually led to competing professionally and earning podium finishes in national and Southern California races. 🚵‍♂️

We feel incredibly lucky to have someone with so much experience, dedication, and genuine care for what he does as part of our team. After 14 years, he continues to represent so much of what we value at DMC, and we couldn’t appreciate him more.

Congratulations, Erron! 👏

Looking back at this ADU and pool house transformation! 🏡✨ Keep swiping to see the before. It’s always crazy to look back at where a project started and see how far it’s come!

A beautiful afternoon supporting an organization that means so much to us.🎗️🩷

🔨 Employee Highlight: Mike Ryan👷🏻‍♂️

This month, we’re excited to recognize Mike Ryan! With decades of experience in construction and over 11 years at De Mattei, Mike brings an incredible level of knowledge, dedication, and craftsmanship to every project he takes on.

Mike is known for running a tight ship. His jobsites are organized, his standards are high, and his attention to detail is hard to miss. But what really sets him apart is the way he approaches challenges: “It’s not a problem, it’s just a solution I haven’t found yet.” And Mike always seems to find it.

For him, the best part of the job is being able to turn around at the end of the day and see what’s been accomplished. He especially enjoys the unique details and one-of-a-kind solutions that make a home personal to the client. That dedication carries beyond the final walkthrough; many of Mike’s past clients have become longtime friends.

Hardworking, trustworthy, experienced, and always willing to go the extra mile, Mike represents so much of what we value at De Mattei Construction. We’re incredibly grateful for his dedication over the years and lucky to have him on our team.

And when he’s not running a job, you’ll probably find him fishing or enjoying the outdoors, usually after starting his day with a black coffee the sunrise. ☕️🎣

Congratulations, Mike, very well deserved! 👏

Employee Highlight: Troy 👷🏼‍♂️✨

This month, we're highlighting Troy, one of our dedicated superintendents who has been part of the De Mattei team since 2022.

Troy has spent his entire career in construction, starting at just 15 years old and working his way through the industry before earning his contractor's license in 2006. Today, he brings decades of experience to every De Mattei project, overseeing the day-to-day operations on site and ensuring every detail meets the high standards our clients expect.

When asked what he loves most about working at De Mattei, Troy's answer was simple: **the people**. He considers De Mattei his family and says that's exactly how he approaches every project. He treats each home as if it were his own, making sure every detail is something he can proudly put his name behind. His commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and doing things the right way is something we see every single day.

Troy also shared two pieces of advice that have guided him throughout his career:
👂" Listen first, learn always." There's always something to learn.
🏡 "Under promise and over deliver." Set realistic expectations, focus on quality, and always strive to exceed them.

Outside of work, Troy enjoys skateboarding (he always has a skateboard in the passenger seat of his truck!) and spending time with his four dogs and two cats.

We're incredibly grateful to have Troy on the De Mattei team. His loyalty, integrity, and pride in his work make him an invaluable part of our family. Thank you for everything you do, Troy!
