Me trying to figure out how the other contractor said they’d do the WHOLE job for $5K… 🤔😂

Meanwhile, $5K is literally just my MATERIAL COST. 💀🎨

The math ain’t mathing. 😂

Typically we don’t talk about jobs like this, but this one deserved to be shared.

Another painter (not a licensed contractor) had started painting this kitchen. The homeowner wasn’t happy with the quality of the work, decided to stop the project, and called us in to take over.

Our goal wasn’t just to paint—it was to correct the issues, restore the finish, and save the kitchen. Seeing the homeowner’s reaction at the end made it all worth it.

He told us he was impressed with the quality, attention to detail, and professionalism we brought to the project. That’s exactly why we take pride in doing things the right way the first time.

Sometimes the cheapest option ends up costing more. Quality craftsmanship always makes a difference.

Things to take into account when asking for a painting quote 🎨🏡

Not every house is the same, and small details can make a big difference in prep work, labor, and overall cost. Here are a few important things contractors look at when putting together a quote:

• Single Story vs Two Story Home
A two-story home usually requires more labor, taller ladders, scaffolding, and extra safety precautions. Access and setup time can affect the overall price and timeline of the project.

• Peeling Paint
If the existing paint is peeling, failing, or chipping, extra prep work is needed before painting. This can include scraping, sanding, priming, and repairs to make sure the new paint properly adheres and lasts.

• Hairline Cracks
Hairline cracks on stucco or siding may seem minor, but they should be repaired before painting. Proper patching and sealing help prevent moisture issues and create a smoother, longer-lasting finish.

• Recently Installed Windows
New windows can impact the prep process. Fresh caulking, exposed areas, damaged stucco, or unfinished trim around windows may need additional prep and sealing to ensure a clean professional finish.

A quality paint job is more than just applying paint — preparation is what makes the difference between a paint job that lasts a few years and one that truly holds up over time. 💯
