This was one of the first drawings I got paid professionally to create. I worked for the Historic American Engineering Record in the summer of 1977. This drawing of the Enterprise Mill in Augusta, GA is in the Library of Congress. Ink on mylar.

This is one of the first Modernist buildings from 1913, by Walter Gropius. He eventually taught at Harvard where he taught one of my professors at Berkeley, Don Olson.

Built in 1913, the Fagus Factory was designed by Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius and architect Adolf Meyer. The brick and glass project is located in Germany and is considered an influential work of early modernism. (Photographer unknown)

I love the mid-Century period in Architecture. This building seems to be heavily influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Johnson Wax building.

The Oklahoma State Capitol Bank, designed by Robert Roloff of Bailey, Bozalis, Dickinson & Roloff in 1962, captures the essence of mid-century modern architecture. This architectural gem features sleek lines and bold geometric forms, creating a dynamic and inviting space. The extensive use of glass allows natural light to flood the interiors, fostering a sense of openness and transparency. The concrete and steel structure exemplifies the innovative spirit of the 1960s, blending functionality with artistic expression. As a prominent landmark, the bank symbolizes the forward-thinking design and cultural optimism of its era.

This house that I designed 24 years ago is on the market for the first time since it was built. It is more traditional than most of the houses I design, but it was a lot of fun to work on and I’m very proud of it.
