The best spaces don't stop at the walls, they invite the landscape in.

For Silver Fox, we leaned into a warm, layered material palette that feels grounded in its surroundings. Soft oak cabinetry, richly textured stone, warm walnut, and earthy upholstery create depth without competing for attention.

Every finish was chosen to complement the views beyond the glass, allowing the architecture and the landscape to work together.

Large sliding doors dissolve the boundary between indoors and out, making natural light, fresh air, and the changing seasons feel like part of the design. It's a reminder that great interiors aren't just about what's inside; they're about how they connect you to where you are.

A primary bath should feel like an exhale, a place where thoughtful design creates space to slow down.

At Culloden Home, timeless architectural detailing and a quiet, contemporary palette come together to create a retreat that feels both elegant and restorative.

A freestanding soaking tub sits beside a custom marble fireplace, transforming an everyday ritual into a luxurious, spa-like experience.

Soft gray cabinetry with warm brass hardware, crisp white countertops, marble surfaces, and a bold geometric tile floor create a composition that is both refined and enduring.

Every material was chosen to bring warmth, balance, and effortless functionality, proving that true luxury lies in thoughtful details and spaces designed to enrich everyday life.

The kitchen is often called the heart of the home, but it's the details that give it soul.

At ShineMaker, every material was selected to create a balance between warmth, artistry, and quiet drama. Bleached cypress cabinetry establishes a light, natural foundation, while the blackened hot-rolled steel hood and upper cabinetry introduce depth and contrast.

Anchoring the composition is a striking Orobico Black marble backsplash, where every vein becomes a work of art, turning a functional surface into the focal point of the room.

The oversized island invites conversation as much as it supports daily rituals. Its sculptural form, softened by warm timber and complemented by bronze fixtures, creates a gathering place that feels equally suited for slow mornings, shared meals, and evenings spent with family and friends.

There’s something special about a dining room that feels equally suited for everyday moments and memorable gatherings.

For the Culloden home, we layered rich materials, sculptural forms, and thoughtful detailing to create a space that feels warm, refined, and inviting.

The marble dining table becomes the centerpiece, its expressive veining balanced by soft velvet seating and warm brass accents.

Above, a cluster chandelier introduces a sense of movement, while the carved fireplace, textured cabinetry, and curated art add depth and character. Set against dark oak flooring and natural light, every element works together to create a room that feels timeless yet distinctly personal.

One of the questions I get asked most often is, "What materials are you using the most right now?"

For us, it's all about creating homes that feel timeless rather than trend driven. Lately, I've been reaching for natural stones like quartzite, marble, granite, and other solid stone surfaces because they bring incredible depth, texture, and individuality to a space. No two slabs are ever the same, and that's part of what makes them so special.

I'm also loving the return of colored tile. Whether it's a soft sage, a rich navy, or an earthy terracotta, color adds personality in a way that still feels classic when it's used thoughtfully.

The best materials aren't just beautiful, they tell a story, age gracefully, and make a home feel uniquely yours.

The spaces we pass through every day often become the ones we appreciate the most.

For the Silver Fox entry, we focused on creating an arrival that feels warm, functional, and beautifully understated. Custom white oak millwork conceals storage, a built-in bench offers a moment to pause, and rich textures soften the clean architectural lines.

Designed for snowy mornings, muddy boots, and everyday routines, this entry proves that practical spaces can be every bit as thoughtful as the rooms beyond.

Good design begins the moment you walk through the door.

I always believe the kitchen should feel like the heart of the home, not just because it's where we cook, but because it's where life naturally happens.

Today I'm sharing a look inside Project Trinity while the kitchen is still under construction. Even at this stage, I'm thinking about how the space will function, how natural light will move through it, and how every material will work together to create something that feels warm, timeless, and easy to live in.

These behind-the-scenes moments may not be the prettiest, but they're some of the most important. They're where every finished home begins.

I'm looking forward to sharing more of Project Trinity with you soon.

Welcome back to Design Conversations with Holly, where I'm answering your questions about design and sharing what happens behind the scenes before a project ever begins.

One question I hear often is,

"How do you really get to know your clients?"

For me, it always starts with listening.

Before we talk about finishes or furniture, I want to understand how my clients live. What does a typical day look like? How do they gather with family and friends? What do they love about their current home, and what isn't working?

I also like to know if they've worked with an interior designer before. If it's their first project, I know I'll be guiding them through a lot of new decisions, and I want the experience to feel collaborative, comfortable, and enjoyable from the very beginning.

At the end of the day, my goal isn't just to design a beautiful home, it's to create one that truly reflects the people living in it.

Color has a remarkable ability to shape how a home feels.

In Rubicon Bay, rich blues, layered textures and warm wood tones create depth without overwhelming the architecture.

Instead of becoming the focal point, the palette works quietly in the background, bringing warmth, balance and personality to every room.

Thoughtful color doesn't compete.

It complements.
