This renovation opens a 1930’s home to the surrounding oak trees. Selective and careful additions enclose unusable outdoor spaces that were too dark or blindingly bright transforming awkward and cramped spaces into rooms with direct connections to the beautiful landscape beyond.

A generic interior is transformed through the introduction of custom millwork, furniture, and commissioned artwork. Our intervention combines a quiet urbanity with intimate spaces, unexpected moments, and a close attention to detail. Wood clads the interior-exterior thresholds to articulate surface conditions while camouflaging functional storage integrations. A spatial generosity emphasizes the exterior with decks on four levels, pocket gardens, and city views.⁠

In this San Francisco residence light moves gently through the home, revealing texture, depth, and changing perspectives throughout the day. Enclosed by the surrounding cityscape, each opening is carefully considered to create moments of privacy, calm, and quiet contrast from morning into evening.⁠

Set within a converted warehouse in New York, this penthouse reinterprets industrial structure through a restrained, contemporary lens. In close collaboration with the owner, the design balances the building’s heavy timber framework with a lighter architectural touch, creating a calm, functional home for family life.
