Join us in congratulating Scott Shell in his exciting new role as Associate Director for Industry at the ClimateWorks Foundation. Scott leaves EHDD after 26 years where he led our Education markets with an emphasis on Science and Research buildings. He was always a stalwart advocate of sustainability initiatives both within and outside the firm and led EHDD’s prominence as a leader in climate solutions. We are pleased to say, he will stay connected as a Climate Innovation Advisor to EHDD.

The ClimateWorks Foundation works with a coalition of advocates, researchers, policymakers, consumers, businesses, and other stakeholders to transform the material economy. Their Industry Program seeks to ensure that people everywhere have access to the goods, materials, buildings, and infrastructure they need without harming the climate. The Industry Program focuses on the greenhouse-gas-intensive industrial commodities including steel, cement, and chemicals across the United States, Europe, and China. Scott will coordinate activities and knowledge exchange among coalition partners to accelerate change in these major industries.

San Francisco would be a much different place if it weren’t for the decades of service Glide Memorial has provided to the underserved and those down on their luck. They never skip a beat when help is needed – not during the pandemic or recessions before that – in fact their service and outreach doubled. EHDD is proud and humbled to be working with Glide to renovate and expand the heart of their operations in the Tenderloin. The renovation was recently profiled in the San Francisco Chronicle for the renovation for the GLIDE Foundation.

"Remove the existing 1960 bathhouse, that was at the end of its useful life, and blocked views to Lake Washington and replace it with a new bathhouse with seasonal and all season restrooms, storage, paddle board concessions, lifeguard station and outdoor showers. The location of the new bathhouse and two picnic pavilions follows guidance from the Master Plan and opens up views to the lake."
