Same home. A completely different presence.
This San Francisco exterior remodel is a great example of how a few thoughtful architectural changes can reshape an entire façade.

The lower balcony was enclosed and integrated into the home, while the upper balconies traded their dense vertical railings for glass, opening up the sightlines and creating a lighter, more contemporary feel.

What we love about a before-and-after like this is that the original home is still recognizable. It simply feels more open, balanced and intentional.

The second floor of this Lone Mountain, San Francisco home had a disconnected floor plan around an underused center atrium patio. The homeowners wanted a floor plan that utilized more indoor space including expanding the kitchen to include an island with seating while keeping the natural light the patio provided. We re-engineered the roof and ceiling structure to incorporate new skylights, preserving that airy, light-filled feeling. The result? A kitchen that lives so much bigger while honoring what made this home special in the first place.

This SF homeowner wanted to make the most of their balcony space. The plan? Enclose the first level for added square footage and redesign the upper balconies for a fresh, modern look. That’s the kind of thoughtful transformation we love bringing to life.
