When I saw this kitchen I wondered why there is a space unoccupied below the ovens?

Did they forget to finish the design?

This design highlights the ovens by creating a floating appearance with negative space below. The quilted material with the led lights adds emphasis to the ovens with the contrast.

Open both doors and there are hidden open shelves on both sides.

We use negative space to create interest. We design for efficiency and interest.

We love handleless kitchens and appliances.

By adding this filler to the base cabinet we created an overhang in the fridge door that can be the handle.

Negative space is where we win.

An honor to be in the room today at the ICAA luncheon during the SF Fall Show, sponsored by Pietra Fina. The luncheon honored Richard Beard and Jay Jeffers — both with beautiful new books out. Surrounded by such brilliant talent. Thank you to Pietra Fina for the invitation and your friendship.

The tall pantry is an excellent opportunity to get that storage we all need.

Here two options for two different people. No one size fits all.

Everyone has different things they want to store in the pantry and how they want to access them.

We spend a lot of time designing a multitude of options that will speak to your client.

Which one do you like and why?

Send this to your client.

The storage solution is personal. There is no one size fits all.

We create kitchens to work harder and fit your needs. Each cabinet has to earn its place.

Two pantry storage options out of many.

What option do you like?

We wanted extra storage so why not put it inside of the dining table?

We use every square millimeter of space to the fullest and make it look easy.

You’re gonna ask but where do you put them when you thaw them out since you can’t set the table whole the top is up.

Easy, put them on the island that’s attached to the table. Close the top and there you go.

In honor of the San Francisco Fall Show Gala — opening tonight.

Since 1982, the West Coast’s home for the decorative arts: 40+ of the world’s top dealers, four days at Fort Mason, one mission — to preserve, cultivate, and advance the decorative arts by fostering education and inspiring appreciation for craftsmanship, design, and cultural heritage.

This year the Show celebrates Métallique Chic. Think gold leaf, silver filigree, copper patina, platinum polish, pearlescent pewter and time-worn bronze — a sparkling dialogue in which every precious metal carries a story. It’s time to shine.

Here’s our contribution to the dialogue — freshly minted.

No one wore silver like Karl Lagerfeld. His stacked bracelets were armor; chrome ran through everything he touched. This kitchen from Karl Lagerfeld Maison speaks his language fluently — an island banded in silver like his bracelets, fluted metal catching light like jewelry, black marble with runway drama.

Every precious metal carries a story. This one is Karl’s.

— to a sparkling opening night. October 15–18, Festival Pavilion, Fort Mason.
