The Lego ‘Comedian’, a rendition of the viral 2019 conceptual artwork by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, banana duct taped to the wall. One edition of the artwork recently sold for $6.2 million at a Sotheby’s auction.

Also pictured the original Lego Monkey (1989) chasing banana.

Trophy Dash

Acrylic 16x 20” canvas panel, painted this one as a potential trophy for the event, encompassing all aspects of San Diego, the Etchells Class and event racing. The different aspects in the painting really shift the color scale. Last painting of the Etchells World Championship Exhibit.

LEGO Toy Story Minifigure (2010)

All competitors also receive a limited numbered print of 310. This was the second painting completed in the International Etchells Class Association World Championship Exhibit and surprised it was picked by the committee.

When I started painting two years ago an undefined goal was to get a piece of art hung in a yacht club, it wasn’t until well after this happened that I’d realized I met that threshold. Not to mention, in IMO, in one of the top three recognized yacht clubs in the country.

Big thanks to San Diego Yacht Club , Casey Schooner, Vince Brun, Charlie Mann, Mark Albertazzi and committee.

Saturday Series, May 9th, 2026

Mercury Class
Magic 1st

Jumped on a Mercury for the third time with a buddy, his first at helm on one, for EYC’s 5 race Saturday Series. We managed to sail and place consistently, never winning a race but winning the overall day. Mercury sailors are very dedicated to their boats and sailing, often having decades of experience, so this was an achievement winning the 15 boat fleet. We did sail a well set up boat that is owned by a local rigger and long time Mercury sailor.
