Major progress on our La Jolla coastal custom home. 🌊🏗️

With the entire structure and surrounding infrastructure now in place, this project has reached an exciting stage. The shell is built, the site is taking shape, and our focus has shifted to the interior finishes that will bring the vision to life.

From the extensive structural work and hillside construction to the pool, outdoor living areas, and expansive coastal views, there’s been a tremendous amount of work behind what you see today.

Now comes the fun part — finishes, details, and watching this home transform from a construction project into a finished custom residence.

More to come as we head toward the finish line.

Proud to deliver Asano on Ivy, a 30,629 SF Live/Work multi-family project in the heart of Bankers Hill 🌿

This modern urban building includes 21 residential units, a fitness center, conference/work spaces, and subterranean parking, designed to support true live-work flexibility.

The structure features a concrete podium on caissons, with four levels of wood framing and structural steel above—a technically complex system executed with precision.

Inside, the residences are finished with bright, modern interiors, featuring custom cabinetry, solid-surface countertops, contemporary appliances, wide-plank flooring, and expansive glazing that brings in natural light and connects the spaces to the surrounding neighborhood.

Thoughtful construction from the foundation to the finishes—built for durability, livability, and urban density.

🏗️ Built with purpose. Designed for city living.

A statement interior from every angle. ✨

This La Jolla coastal remodel blends architecture, craftsmanship, and curated design into one seamless experience. Existing wood floors were sanded and custom-stained to warm up the space, while new paint, textures, and finishes set a refined, modern tone throughout.

The floating staircase anchors the home as a true architectural centerpiece, complemented by updated countertops, a fully reimagined kitchen and butler’s pantry, and carefully selected designer furniture and art to complete the vision. Clean lines, layered materials, and thoughtful details—this is coastal luxury with intention.

Built to feel elevated, timeless, and lived in.

Before ➡️ After | Mission Bay Coastal Duplex

When you’re building steps from the ocean, waterproofing isn’t optional — it’s everything.

This Mission Bay beachfront duplex was suffering from failing stucco and inadequate waterproofing. We took the building all the way down to the studs, corrected the envelope issues, and rebuilt it the right way.

✔️ Full re-waterproofing

✔️ New lath & flashing details

✔️ Elastomeric crack-reduction stucco system designed for coastal exposure

✔️ Long-term durability with a clean, modern finish

Coastal environments demand higher standards — and that’s where Lakewood Builders thrives.
