This kitchen used to sit tucked behind walls, with a narrow galley layout and awkward corners that cut it off from the rest of the home. The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt open, connected and easy to live in.

We took out the walls that boxed it in and opened the space to the dining and living areas. Now there’s room to move, a new island with open shelving, plenty of storage, and natural light that reaches all the way through.

Three kids grew up in this house. Then, one by one, they moved out.

For over twenty years, this Carlsbad home revolved around them: backpacks by the door, a fridge covered in school schedules, a kitchen counter that never stayed clean for long. When the last one left, the house that raised a family suddenly had room to become something new.

This whole-home remodel gave these San Diego empty nesters exactly that. A home office in the space that used to catch all the kid clutter. A fully remodeled white kitchen with high-end appliances and custom cabinetry, designed for someone who truly loves to cook. New French doors flanking the fireplace, finally opening the living room to the outdoor views they'd been looking past for two decades.

From dated to dreamy: this Carlsbad kitchen's full transformation.

Dark wood cabinetry, a dated backsplash, and a layout that no longer worked for how this family actually cooks and gathers. We rebuilt it with crisp white custom cabinetry, a Thermador rangetop, a pot filler, and a layout designed around how they really live.

This Carlsbad kitchen remodel started with a simple wish list: more storage, better flow, and a coffee station built around one very specific morning ritual.

We gave this family custom cabinetry that stretches all the way to the ceiling, with appliance garages and pull-out spice racks to keep every counter clear. A built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator and rangetop for a true home cook. And a coffee bar designed for someone who roasts his own beans at home.

New LVP flooring ties the space together, French doors now open the adjoining living room to the backyard, and a refreshed stone fireplace pulls the whole first floor into one cohesive feel.
