Aging-in-place. Aging gracefully. Universal design. However you describe it, more and more homeowners are planning ahead, and it doesn't mean sacrificing style.

A few features we're building into bathrooms designed for the long term:

Curbless, low-barrier showers with no step-in edge. Grab bars that are designed to blend into the space, not feel like a hospital fixture. Blocking added inside the walls now, so bars can be installed later without disrupting finished surfaces. Wider doorways and shower openings that make the space more accessible for walkers, wheelchairs, or simply more room to move.

This is what it looks like to design a home for every stage of life, safe, comfortable, and still beautiful.

Before a single cabinet went in, every material in this kitchen had to earn its spot.

Shaker cabinets in a soft showroom white satin finish, one continuous slab of polished quartz with a mitered edge, a Riobel pulldown faucet, a Nantucket Sinks fireclay farmhouse sink, and an Adex USA subway tile backsplash in their Levante Aire matte finish.
