The 18,000-sf neighborhood favorite continues to earn recognition for its impact, having quickly become a true community cornerstone. Designed with community in mind, The Bel brings affordable housing to the heart of Hillcrest!

The approximately 78,900-sf development features eight stories of affordable apartment homes above community-oriented spaces designed to support everyday living. Residents will have access to an on-grade exterior courtyard, a community gathering space, and an upper-level deck that provides additional opportunities to connect and enjoy the vibrant area.

We're proud to have provided structural engineering services for this people-centered project and happy to see The Bel take its place in the Hillcrest neighborhood!

A great night celebrating the projects and people that add character to San Diego!

We had a wonderful time attending this year's Orchids & Onions Awards Gala and sharing the evening with all the talented teams. Seeing San Diego Zoo Safari Park’s Elephant Valley, Pacific Highlands Ranch Library, and CHAPEL at Liberty Station’s Bell Tower given their flowers was especially meaningful. We're grateful to have served as the structural engineer on these Orchid-winning projects and collaborated with each incredible team.

222 North City brings a bold vision for urban living to life through transformative design and a strong sense of place.

The approximately 992,000-gsf, mixed-use development consists of two connected 12-story residential towers with apartment homes, below-grade parking, and street-level retail. Amenities, including a pool, gathering spaces, and a pedestrian paseo, create opportunities for residents to connect, while the construction frames sweeping views of the surrounding hills and cityscape.

We're proud to have provided structural engineering services for 222 North City, which has made its mark on the San Marcos skyline and provided a place the community can enjoy together.

Tomorrow’s engineering talent—looking less like visitors and more like future hires!

KPFF recently partnered with the SEAOC student chapter at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo for a visit to our San Diego office. Students spent time meeting the team, learning about the variety of projects we work on, and getting a behind-the-scenes peek at what structural engineering looks like beyond the classroom.

Say hello to the newest member of the KPFF San Diego structural team, Haley Pilcher!

Haley joins us after earning her Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and her Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Through internships she gained valuable hands-on industry experience and insight into the design and construction process.

Freshly freed from the demands of schoolwork, Haley’s looking forward to discovering new hobbies to add to her love of the beach, trivia, baking, and spending time with friends. She recently returned from a five-week trip across Europe, her first time traveling outside the country. Welcome back to the States, Haley, and to your new role with KPFF San Diego!
