Today marks the eighteenth anniversary of DBRDS. What started as two Australian blokes sketching away at a dining room table in Pacific Beach has grown in to so much more.

Our people have gotten married, had kids, gotten licensed, and sampled delicious Vegemite. We've relocated offices from the Gaslamp Quarter to Little Italy, and we've opened an office in Sacramento.

We'd like to thank our clients, collaborators, and friends who have been on this journey since day 1! And we'd like to thank everyone who's been a part of the DBRDS team over the years.

Quick trip out to our girard_lofts_lajolla project this morning.
Being part of La Jolla Village, the project came with a responsibility & opportunity to maintain a pedestrian link through the site that had been forged by generations of people crossing through this site into the village. When some developers may have looked at this as a negative, our clients MANA INVESTMENTS saw the opportunity for this project to be a good new neighbor and embraced the walkway as a part of the fabric of the village that should be integrated into the development, rather than being gated off & lost.
The mural, planned from the outset as an inviting entrance to the walkway looks great too - Solid work by Gretchen Leggitt + Miss Teal.
👏👏👏

In 2015, DBRDS was engaged to prepare a development proposal for a vacant downtown San Diego lot. Adjacent the trolley line, and within walking distance to San Diego City College, the proposal focused on smaller units and a variety of community amenties & outdoor gathering spaces to create a vertical-village mix of passive & active uses.
