Yesterday, homeowner decided to change the hosebibbs around his house at about 4pm. He ended up shearing one of the fittings off. For those that don't know this part of town is more rural and the local hardware store would be closed by the time I got there.Instead of turning water off at valve he jammed in a dowel with a rag to slow down the leak. Got to appreciate the ingenuity, but that could have potentially damaged the pipe further. I came to repair, the pipe inside the tee fitting was almost a flush break inside fitting. I barely had enough exposed pipe to heat it up and remove it with a pair of channel locks. Cleaned up fittings and soldered in a new 1/2" street adapter and installed new Bibb. Luckily it turned out to be a fairly easy fix for a professional. However I did give the homeowner some tips to properly remove threaded hosebibb in the feature to possibly prevent this from happening.
