Coffee, under the stairs.

In this La Costa kitchen, the space beneath the staircase became a coffee station. White cabinetry and deep drawers hold the everyday things, and w**e storage follows the slope of the stairs to make the most of every inch.

The charm is in the Spanish Colonial details: an arched niche, twisted black pulls, and lantern pendants over the island.

Yes, we have a thing for sage kitchens.

It's a green that behaves like a neutral. It sits quietly beside marble, warms up next to walnut, and makes brass hardware feel like it was always part of the plan.

Every cabinet here is by Plato Woodwork, Inc. , with the craftsmanship to take decades of daily cooking and a limited lifetime warranty behind it.

Would you go sage in your own kitchen?

Can you spot the fridge?

This is Sub-Zero and Wolf UK’s fully integrated refrigerator in our showroom. We modeled the panels just like the cabinetry around it, down to the beaded inset on the frame.

My favorite part is the mock frame. It's part of the panel, so when the freezer drawer glides out, the frame comes with it. When it's closed, you barely notice the gap, and everything lines up exactly.

Come see it in person at the Studio Stratton Inc. showroom.

Glass-front cabinetry gives the pieces you love somewhere to be seen. The dishes collected over years, the glassware that comes out when friends come over, the serving pieces you want within reach and in view.

It also changes the rhythm of the room. A long run of solid doors can start to feel heavy, and a few panes of glass break that line, catch the light, and send it back into the space.

Then there's the proportion. Give the cabinet its own crown, its own finish, and its own presence on the wall, and it reads like a piece of furniture that was always meant to be there.

Which of these would you want in your own kitchen?

Contemporary doesn't have to feel cold. This La Jolla kitchen proves it.

Stainless steel shows up in the range hood and the floating shelves: clean lines, sharp edges, a little shine. Warm stone countertops and soft white cabinetry carry the rest of the room.

30+ years of designing San Diego kitchens comes down to moments like this.

What makes this La Jolla kitchen timeless?

The dish storage, for a start. Glass fronts, lit from the inside, one soft gray against a room of white. It reads like a piece of furniture that came with the house.

Around it, everything holds back. The stone climbs out of the counter and up the range wall with no grout line to interrupt it. The cabinetry sits flush in its frames. The island faces the water and seats everyone who wants to look at it.

I am honored to be a part of this collaboration!

People of Plato | Dealer Advisory Council

Great ideas are built through collaboration—and sometimes, the work happens on the road. Our Dealer Advisory Council is together in Grand Rapids, Michigan, sharing ideas, exchanging insight, and helping shape what’s next for Plato.

We’re grateful for the dealers who bring their experience, perspective, and passion to the table. Their voices help us continue to grow, innovate, and create cabinetry that serves both designers and homeowners beautifully.

These are the People of Plato—working together to make what comes next even better.

Coffee's better in a kitchen like this.

This kitchen has a little retro groove to it: a bold geometric backsplash set against warm wood and clean white uppers.

Mid-century modern, the way it feels when it's just someone's actual kitchen.
